It was surprisingly terrible. Who was controlling the cameras, a drunken toddler?
Wobbly cameras, switching between shots every 2 seconds, poor lighting, and random cuts away from the action.
Oh look, another robot accidentally drove into the pit without actually doing any damage. Carbide was the only robot that even had a consistently functional weapon.
The actual fights were pathetic compared to this season of Battlebots, and the robots designs don’t even seem remotely thought out.
Rant over.

I loved it. My only real criticism was that they changed the theme song.

I feel like Battlebots has raised the bar on production value, and the robots themselves have gotten better.

Personally I hate Battlebots’s presentation, it feels too corporate. As for the Robots on Robot Wars. You have to remember that the vast majority of them are built by blokes in sheds in the evenings hence why so many “don’t even seem remotely thought out”. I just hope that they keep the variety strong because in the old show everyone just ended up building 90 MPH battering Rams and it got stale.
