Woke up at 3 am to this. That red circle is my house. That’s about 4 blocks.
Several buildings burned up but gladly no loss of life. 3 alarm response, so many sirens and the eerie glow I thought the world was ending.

When I left for work they were still putting water on it.

I’ve had two gas tanker trucks blow up near where I live, one in VA and another in Austin. On the first one, I was awakened in the morning by the explosions and looked out the window to see huge columns of black smoke blowing over the house. Gas was running down the street, igniting cars and flowing into the water, setting the surface of the water on fire. The second was at night just a few blocks from my apartment. Big glow, lots of sirens. Scary stuff.

Not really. It rains a lot here actually but it’s been pretty warm and dry. That lot is probably poorly maintained. My grass is a lush green.
