Did any of these ever leave British islands? I have seen couple of Princesses (even in Finland) but not these.

Apparently not. Wiki says they were sold only in Britain - which is wrong, they made it to Ireland. They may have been rhd only though.

That’s one weird looking car. Mk3 Escort front end with a Princess body fitted with Rover style windows.

That sums up BL as a whole quite well.
Apart from the Allegro, that one was like an Alfasud with down syndrome. Dat Vanden Plas tho.

That type of front end (indicators at each end, rectangular lights, plain black grille) was very popular back then and so BL just joined the bandwagon.
It should have been a hatch from day 1 but I guess they thought that hatches were downmarket.

It’s basically styled with the BL parts bin.

At least it’s not a Talbot Tagora.

Actually, forgotten but not gone. I used to see one on the road a couple of years ago but I think it’s gone to that great car park in the sky now.

Some reports claim that there’s still around 10 left over.
The website I linked only covers UK registered cars anyway, so there are probably more in the rest of Europe.
