Yay, FIAT Multipla! :D Also, yay Piaggio Ape! :D
That Nissan Tiida - those were sold here in Canada as the Versa. :)

Of all things, why a TIIDA?

I experienced one of those double-decker garages in Strasbourg 15 years ago. Bloody brilliant, actually.

Very off topic but my parents didn’t buy a certain appartment with that kind of garage because he had questioned the reliability of those.

It’s a fascinating comparison between the US and Europe. Here in the US, we have the room to create acres and acres of paved parking. In Europe, they have to figure out ways to handle a distinct lack of space. I can see why some might be leery of this arrangement, and I even had the hotel attendant park our rental Focus for me (he backed it up the top level, squealing the tires on the metal decking on the way up; there was maybe two inches of clearance when he was done). But it’s simply a matter of getting used to something strange. The benefits are obvious.

Interceptor!
You don’t see them daily.
Mind you, I haven’t seen a running XM in years.

Our parking spot is very tight. We have about that much space on both sides but thankfully the car parking next to ours is a Mercedes A-Class which is relatively narrow. I am always a bit fascinated by the wide roads in the US as our road network predates cars by a coupe of centuries. Even many parking garages are very tight with modern cars getting bigger with every generation and stupid suvs. Parking in our garage scared the shit out of me when I first got my license but now I could do it with my eyes closed (probably not though haha).

What’s the silver BMW (3-series?) in the 5th picture? I recognize that front end but don’t really know anything about it. Is it an E46?

Not sure. Everything other than the front looks very E46ish.

E46 compact

The internet tells me it’s called an E46/5, otherwise known as the 3-series Compact. It came in 316ti, 318ti, and 325ti flavors.

Compact, the second of the two models.
