So beige you say Versa when this is actually the model you meant to make a joke about. So beige if it were a spice, it’d be flour. So beige you aren’t even sure if you’ve seen the redesigned ones on the street yet even though they’ve been on sale for months now.
I kid, it’s obvious the next Sentra will be awesome. Can’t wait!

I drove an 08 and I was shocked at how horrible it was in every way.

I hope they make a new SE-R

Really trying to understand who would take this over the Civic or Corolla. It makes absolutely no sense.

Because well equipped with driver’s assist safety pkg it stickers for about 21 and I’ve gotten them as cheap as 17k. That’s a tough value to beat.

Yeah that is definitely a good point
But the CVT keeps it away from almost any sort of enthusiast.
And the average Joe will go with the Toyota or Honda almost every time.
Can’t imagine these having a big market share other than for fleet uses

The Sentra sells pretty well because your average buyer doesn’t care about the CVT and most people just like lump in Nissan with Honda and Toyota. So if they can get a compact for several grand less, they go for it.

It must be the worst car in the world because it definitely has the worst commercial in the world

I just read a Car and Driver comparison for small sedans. It was the first time they invited the Sentra in 9 (!) years, because the last one was so bad. Somehow the new one was just as bad too. Spoiler alert: it finished dead last to the Elantra, Cruz, Civic, and Mazda3.

That's pretty much how I feel about Nissan. They just get lumped in with Nissan and Toyota for brand perception, but they have much bigger incentives and far Inferior build quality and design. They just get buy on being one of the big 3 Japanese manufacturers.

Never really considered Nissan to be on par with Honda or Toyota honestly. They seem more on par with Kia, below the big two

Gonna have a hard time finding anything without CVT these days in anything. Only the base version of the civic comes with a manual, not an option yet with the turbo.

I agree...but a lot of people just think all Japanese cars are good.

The Sentra, with its CVT, is bland indeed.
But the old ones were sweet! The original SE-R, so cool.
I have an ‘89 Sentra sedan, and I love it. 5 speed, looks like hell, and loud, but it runs excellent, and currently has nearly new suspension, brakes, transmission, yatta yatta (did it myself, or the cost wouldnt have made sense with the value of the car.) It has never broken down and stranded me, in 7 years. Plus it’s fun to drive, slow car fast style. Its easy to swing the rear around, even with no handbrake, but it’s predictable.
It’s ugly, but I love it.
But that new one, bleh.

Beats the cheesy old CGI ads, that's for sure. But still bad.

There are some cars that I don’t understand why people would buy. The Versa Sentra is one of them.
