Ok, so now that i started to drive the e30 m a little i noticed that i cant see shit at night... i didn’t want to do an hid kit, because, to be honest, i think alot of them are shit and i didnt want to cut up my euro elipsoids.. looking for alternatives i stumbled across these.. looked at all the reviews on amazon, and the forums where people tried them. I thought to myself, for 70 bucks, what do i have to loose? Instalation was relatively easy and it does seem like alot of light... havent driven with them yet, so i’ll report back with that once i go out. ( its been raining.)

Look forward to your review of them at night, since i’ve heard bad about LED’s for use like this. Lots of light, but very quick drop off, not much “reach” to it.

I think since i have a projector to begin with i should be good, alot of people are putting them in regular halogen housings with the reflectors, so its all scattered to begin with...

How many lumens? How many lumens were the original halogen bulbs?

From what i can tell, looks like 7000lm for the led and 1000 for the regular bulb that was in there

I’ve noticed before, but you don’t have the grill badge, any reason for this?

yep, about, 18 years ago, I got backed into in a 7-11 parking lot and the grills broke along with the regular elipsoids, no other damage really, I ordered the grills, euro elips, and had the hood lined back up... never bothered to order the badge, but now I will... you reminded me!

I’ve been thinking about putting a bunch of LEDs in the headlights in my fiancee’s Impreza. It has these little strips that look like the LED daytime running lights on the Legacy and Outback but they’re actually just halogen parking lights. It’s totally our “normal” car but I can’t leave well enough alone. It’s got normal reflector type housings, not projectors though.

These are the Canadian optional HIDs but our car is fully loaded (for US spec) and doesn’t have them.

Nice! The grill badge is one of my favorite styling elements of the early M cars. I actually kinda wish mine had one.

My Miata has LED headlights and I put a set in my mom’s Saturn Sky. They’re super nice, though I wish I had gotten models with passive cooling instead of fans.

Just get one for the e30 m3, you can bend the tabs behind the badge and put it in!

I’ve actually got one already, just think it’d look really out of place on my car.

I have seperat low and high beams, oncoming drivers dont seem to care the projectors have distinct cut iffs so theyre not in anyones eyes, and the brand was opt7.
