Well, I don’t. Even with the optional bodykit the 156 looks dorky to my eyes. Its standard design is so cohesive that changing anything spoils its peculiar, absolutely remarkable blend of aggressiveness and elegance. Certain things are better left alone.

Which is why the second series cars, with an oversize, elongated scudetto, are quite less graceful than the first ones.

(Of course all this is just my opinion.)

The 155 was a rather nice car that came at a moment when the edges were going out of fashion. But don’t for a moment assume all 155s had the Integrale drivetrain: that was just the Q4. Suspension was also slightly different, I believe (the 155 was one of the first derivatives of the all-new Tipo platform) but what made it clearly inferior to the Integrale was the boot. Overhangs like that do spoil the balance a lot, believe it or not (polar moment of inertia and all that).
