I think because it’s become the in thing to hate.
It’s a well loved TV programme that’s gone through some upheaval. Trying to restore some of what it used to be with a larger team (one everyone loves to hate, Chris Evans and one people love, Matt Le Blanc, etc...).
Though Top Gear may not be loved by everyone, it has a great following around the world.
