They are made to fold down when not in use. Visibility isn’t that bad. It’s no worse than my Mom’s Vibe.

I drove a new ish Pilot and with the third row seats up, there is no visibility out the back at all. Central mirror does nothing and side isn’t much help either. I felt like i was trapped in a bunker. Dat VTAK was nice though.

I noticed when backing the Cougar up the driveway this morning how awesome visibility is out the rear window. Who needs a darn backup camera when turning your head gives you a such a great view?

Ours is the second, and it’s not excellent. Better than an FJ Cruiser or Camaro though.
