I don't mind the music, but I can get into the vocals. Years back, I used to go to lots of small band metal shows with a friend of mine who worked for a punk/metal label. He loved it, but the fact the "singers" weren't even trying to enunciate (just constant growls, screams, grunts) turned me off. I like death metal, but I need to be able to understand at least 50% of the words.

If you could understand the words they wouldn’t make much sense. Basically they opened up a medical textbook, picked the most brutal diseases and made the lyrics up based off of them.

Fair enough. I prefer more melodic bands, like Heaven Shall Burn and Amon Amarth.
