They shut down part of my street - heavy security. Which I suppose makes sense given the current climate.

I hope Danza sweeps them again this year. Bennett is just getting too old and The Tiger is technically a fictional character.

Gave myself a gift a long time ago - no awards shows, state of the unions, press conferences, or debates. YouTube highlights clips suit me fine. And I’ve no dog in the Tony Award fight.

We just cut the cable about 18 months ago. It's liberating (after the 3-month withdrawal period). I'm so happy to know nothing about politics right now. Or news, for that matter...I still hear about it, just later, and with a lot less speculation.

We have cable, but not for news - I gave up watching all that. I’m watching The Astronaut Farmer right now courtesy of what will shortly be not Time Warner. But I’m looking for an exit strategy.

In Manhattan, so many choices — even a basic OTA antenna for $5 will get you 30+ stations there, mostly HD. Then a Roku box (or stick) for Amazon/Netflix/Hulu and anything else. It's pretty slick when it all works together.

The SigOther says we have to keep HBO for “Game of Thrones,” although I think HBO Go might do the trick. And we can have any cable provider we want in our building as long as it is Time Warner. Exclusivity on buildings was a 60s giveaway that has long paid back the cable providers for wiring up the city, but it hangs on like a boil that needs lancing.

Hey you’re not far from me, I’m up on 107th St.! I worked at the Fairway at 74th for several months last fall and used the Beacon Hotel to go to the bathroom!

GoT tonight. Sorry, Tony.
