I took my truck for its biannual emissions test yesterday morning. In the past I’ve never had to wait in line behind more than three or four cars. Yeah, apparently the great clusterf*** that is our state closed a bunch of testing stations, so the line now goes down the street. All was not lost though, spotted a couple cool cars.

Enhance. A lovely electric blue C5!

What’s that at the front of line #1? A Ferrari something-something!

Kinja'd!!!

It must not have passed, because the dude had to circle around and go into the office.

Now, a question: Have people gotten so freaking stupid, that we need arrows pointing to the edge of the door openings?

Kinja'd!!!

The test itself only took a couple of minutes. As long as that line was, it only took about half an hour all told. My tester was friendly and quick working.

Love the tag. And that’s a Ferrari 360 Modena.

Luckily my car is too old to be tested. It’d probably break the machine. (TT)

Why is everybody getting their cars tested on the same day. In California there is usually 2 or 3 cars in line at the most.

It was a very naughty testing facility?

That’s probably it. I hear the Lemonjello Speciales are going way up in value.

That’s how it used to be here too. I drove past the facility the day before, and the line was way longer. It was down the entire block, and bleeding out onto the main road.

The Illinois state government has completely ceased to function. They’ve been operating without a budget for about a year now, thanks to a big pissing match between our stupid governer and our insane legislature. One of the many side effects is a lot of testing facilities got closed, so there just aren’t that many places to go. This was a random Thursday morning at 10:00 am, in the middle of the month no less I’d hate to see what the line is like at the end of the month.

Same with my Roadmaster. Illinois doesn’t test anything OBD1 or older.

I was hoping somebody would notice that, and I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to ID the Ferrari :)

I feel bad for your wait.

Over here we have MOT Testing Stations which carry a sign outside to confirm they are legit.
