Car was in the shop becasue of course it was. Afterwards while I was literally talking badly of it and going to start the car, the Chrysler logo fell off the key. Other non-related news, going to start looking at cars this weekend!
Going to make sure I fit in an Elise before letting those dreams go any further. This one is too much money for the miles (and only has a stock photo for the ad), but I’ve never even sat in one so that’s the first step.
Then going to test drives a buddy’s S2000, currently thinking that will be the smart choice. I’ve drive too many miles a year and its a Honda.
But still waiting for 124's to show up at dealers.

Even if you fit, it’s a bitch to climb in and out of an Elise. They are however a blast to drive, I’d like to think that I could tolerate one as a dd.
I take it that you are looking to stay with the same layout as the Crossfire (2 seater ragtop)?

Notice the three pointed star where the Chrysler logo was.

My thoughts exactly.

SUSPICIOUS!

Mine is coupe but yea I want a convertible. Figure I might as well stick with 2 seat life while I can, really have no need for any practicality. But that is also exactly how I feel:
I’d like to think that I could tolerate one as a dd.

Wouldn’t you rather have a Mustang and a license to kill?

You can’t not notice that. I used a dab of glue and stuck it back on, just like Chrysler did.

V8's are nice, but my inner hipster would be crying.

Hm.. I wonder why they would do that on a SLK Crossfire.

The famous Chrysler quality starts at the keys.

How much cheaper would the supercharged SRT-6 + pulley upgrade be? Drove a stock one years back at a pseudo-autocross course and it was surprisingly quick.

Psh EcoBoost

Nothing but the best OEM quality for you!

I think the heat would get to me before the inconvenient door sills. The heat just pours over your back in those things.
The S2000 is a car that I have almost purchased twice. Can’t say enough good stuff about em. I’m sure you’ll be all about one after a drive.

A lot cheaper than every car I’m thinking about and minus the Lotus quicker than all. But after 3.5 years I’m kind of over staring at this, plus I want to try manual life out too.

Did you just make a turbo joke with “Psh”?!

I share your pain.
Also, I believe we are both going to be replacing our crossfires at almost the same time.

Huh, wouldn’t even have thought of engine heat being an issue. Well thats something to keep in mind. But yea thats what test drives are for, to see if/how much you like something!

I still like the car, but its shine has worn off after 3.5 years and 75k miles.

Same. I’ve done about 30k of its 38k and I really just need something that’s got more room but is still sporty.

Id say its an omen when the actual key starts falling apart.
Though I never understood the hate for those. I test drove an SRT 6 once and it was a blast!

After 3.5 years I still like it. Mine is just the base model but its fun to drive and after some exhaust work sounds great too. I’m just tired of maintaining a Chrysler and ready for some new experiences.
