YEP!! I’ve always thought these were cool. Decent torque too. I have very fond memories of whipping my friend’s V6 Alero around NYC when I was in college, on a road trip. He had already smashed the side of his car on a tree or something, so I was allowed to drive as aggressively as I wanted to AKA dodge potholes erratically and cut people off like the clinically insane cabbies do. It was awesome.

I remember wanting an Intrigue so bad with the 3800 in high school. The car had the 3800 but was much lighter than the LeSabre/Bonneville/Olds 98/88 etc, so it could accelerate like a Maxima (on paper).

I still want one probably because I’m from Lansing and the local news always got to try out the prototype Oldsmobiles (my father got to test pre-production models out of the Lansing plants).

Some cars might have been crappy in hindsight but there is something about knowing some of the people who built/designed those cars (some design/engineering for Olds occured in Lansing, not all of it was at the Tech Center).
