Nothing like a nice back road drive on a beautiful day.

Kinja'd!!!

Although getting stuck behind someone doing 10-15 under with no passing zone kinda sucks.

The worst is when they speed up in the areas you’re allowed to pass in when it’s clear to pass, I swear it’s intentional.

I know I shouldn’t, but more often than not I just go and pass them once the roads opens enough to complete the maneuver successfully.

Doubly true when I’m on a bike, no mercy.

Yeah, that happens to me sometimes. One of the roads I was stuck behind someone on today was recently repaved, and the passing zones were removed! Just double yellow lines the whole way. The other one was too twisty to pass someone on.

That’s the worst, but if we’re in a rural area and you’re the only other car on the road and doing 10-15 under, I’m gonna show you what third gear is all about, solid yellow or not. Luckily in Texas, on some rural roads, the shoulder is like a semi passing lane because it’s about as wide as a normal lane, the slower moving cars into it, you pass them, wave thanks and move on.

I usually have a blind curve or opposing traffic coming up in those circumstances.

A lot of the back roads where I live (outskirts of Richmond, VA) cut through forests and have blind curves, so I usually wait for a passing zone before blowing around someone. I did have someone wave me around in a safe spot a couple weeks ago, though. Thought that was cool.

Nice, a Prelude owner! How do you like it? I always liked them.

It’s fun. It’s my project/good weather DD. Got it as a junkyard rescue a couple years ago, put another engine in it (H23 VTEC), and have been restomodding it. Just put new front brakes on about a month ago and starting to collect new suspension parts. It’s in that zone where it isn’t slow, but it also isn’t too fast to enjoy on the street.
