What a strange looking bunch we must have been. Me on my Harley, one guy on an R3, then an FZ-07 and XR650. Wish I would have gotten pics of all for together. The FZ is brand spanking new as of five minutes before we started riding, and actually so is it’s owner. The only riding he’s ever done before that was at the class. It’s a little more bike than the rest of us thought he should be riding for now, but he did fine and rode it with respect for what it is.
Me and R3 guy swapped bikes for a few miles before meeting up with the others. We must have looked really strange considering the great each of us uses. It was fun though!
Leaving on a 200+ mile ride in a little over an hour, adding someone on a Daytona to the group. Should be a blast!

Holy crap the fz 07 sounds like me I'm brand new to riding. I ride with my friend who has a Indian scout I think we also look stranger together. I now have a little bit more experience on the fz it is hell of a lot of bike make sure your friend gets the frame sliders.

I dropped it 4 hours after installing the frame sliders no damage but a bent clutch lever which I was replacing anyways besides that everything is good.

Peter Black and I did that last year(swapped rides). Me all cruiser kitted and he all sporty. I rode a few miles and it was just so... flappy?

He’s planning on it for sure.

Lol flappy?

IDK... the pedals were insubstantial, the steering was light, the digital dash was foreign. You know...flappy. or odd. You could go with odd too, I guess.

Lol ok I know what you mean. Cruisers just feel so solid and substantial whereas sport bikes are so light and nimble almost to the point they feel flimsy sometimes. It takes some getting used to for sure.

I’ve played with just about every type there is and still come back to a solid cruiser. Comfort, feel, noise, ride. I don’t need to go slow on a fast bike.

Yeah, it works best for most situations. 75% of my time on it is riding around town. Ideally I could have this and a sport bike of some kind. Maybe in the future.

I actually contemplated that exact scenario yesterday...
Street Glide for touring and a toy for being a miscreant on.
