Puts modern crossovers to shame!
Context: this was at a local brewery that is dog-friendly, where my evil puppy surpassed expectations after two previous “difficult” visits. And just like I had planned, she sure seems drained afterwards.

I’m a simple man, with a simple plan.

Parking by feel?

3 liters of screaming fury bruh.

Yup! Even the Camry was like this before they got all grounded to the ground.
My sports car is nice and high too ;)

More like 3 liters of wheezing asthma.

You can drive up the side of a mountain, but I can drive at freeway speeds. Let us combine forces and destroy The Honda Bros

Nah, I like to match my handles with adjacent cars.

Still more power than a 22RE...

Can’t hear you over they wail of a tires and the screams of shitty V6 at 91mph bro.
![]() 05/28/2016 at 22:04 |

Sometimes I open my windows a little bit just to match the car next to me when I park.

Can you got 90 in that? I was going to post about it my review, but the Celica can go... very fast.

I went to the opening of Stone Brewing’s Richmond brewery a few months ago. There were dogs outside, but not inside. I’ll probably take Coal next time I go.
![]() 05/28/2016 at 22:07 |

Yes, it will go that fast. It’s terrifying, but it will do it.

I’m not big on taking my dog places, but she needs socialization so whatever... if I can drink a beer, I can do anything unpleasant.
![]() 05/28/2016 at 22:10 |

Well I guess I got nothing on you except fuel economy. When you hit ninety (HYPOTHETICALLY) on the Celica, you lose all road feel and the car kind of... goes where it wants.

Since my old B5 A4 was more or less flush, parking with curb stops was horrible. Luckily, the bottom of the front bumper was plastic.

Unless it’s one of these:

In it’s better days, the Slowrunner felt planted and stable, but at the same time you knew that if you thought about the steering wheel being slightly off center, it would flip. Now I don’t go past 70. It needs a few things...

Our former Sable would scrape every curb. I’m pretty sure our vibe hangs even lower. Meanwhile you could crawl under any of my Toyotas without a jack.

Haha, strangely the Jetta wedges itself in right over the curb. One thing it does do completely right.

Oh man, my pickup doesn’t feel safe past 60mph due to suspension needs. Way too much play in a vehicle with no power steering for my comfort.

Dog friendly brewery, that sounds awesome!

I need most of the front end rebuilt, so that’s what keeps me there. I don’t think I’m in dire need, but it was part of the deciding factor in getting a new DD.
![]() 05/28/2016 at 22:21 |

Not quite comparable purchases, but I made the same decision by buying my Celica. The money needed to make the pickup a 20k-miles-per-year workhorse... I just bought another car instead. The pickup will get fixed soon enough, but it’s a hauler now instead of a DD. I hope to keep it forever.

Same plan with the 4Runner. Plus, I need to learn to work on it more, and I’ve always wanted a project. Now I have one. Maybe in the next few years it will have a little more 1, U, and Z under the hood.

I wasn’t either, Coal’s first year or two. Young Lab, seemingly no socialization/pack instinct whatsoever his first year alive (he was a rescue)...he was beyond a handful. He’s become a great dog, though. Now I wish I could take him everywhere.

It depends. Some people bring their dogs and let them off leash, which is incredibly distracting for my puppy. And some people just fawn over my puppy, which is not good.

Curb? I can’t even ramp.

Yeah drawbacks are inevitable with stuff like that.

I miss cars I could do this with. My latest two are simply too low in spite of being bone stock. I back them into spaces because there's more clearance and it's easier than backing out of parking spaces.
