The old dear is off to get re-chassis-shodded, and I’m silly excited just to see the new chassis! Galvy ftw.

Yes! How did you get the handbrake unstuck?

You know this needs a full Landy pulling a Landy shot right? And pictures of the new chassis of course.

Are you going to have the bulkhead done too?

They're quite liable to twist and warp during the process, so no. Not unless I could find a new bulkhead for a fair price, but they're few and far between.

Yes, the Series is ex-army, and the Defender is ex-REME and was probably an airfield vehicle.

Oh nice, a former teacher of mine had a ragtop ex-army Series too, I think it came from the UK because it was RHD. He had a small military style trailer to store an army tent in, and he fitted some broomsticks to the corner of the front bumper to serve as a kind of flag pole, because why not. Much fun was had with that car on a school survival trip, and it looked very cool next to the army tent.

Was it a sankey?
If so, that’s to be my next acquisition, although getting one the same age in good condition can cost ££££’s.

Aye, the sort of weather someone in my line of work should be working in. Still, more important things were calling.

Yeah, it probably was one, it had the same coupling ring. His one wasn’t that great, because he parked it in a field when he didn’t use it. The landy was/is his daily though, for when wheather wasn’t good enough to cycle.

Haha job done. Can’t wait to see the thing moving under its own power on the shiny new chassis.
