I need a TT V6 Mustang. Call it a Lincoln if you have to. Just take my money. I’ll give you $40k.
Like this, but with a 3.0T 2.7T badge:

Actually it would be either a 2.7T badge or 3.5T badge depending on which motor they use

Nobody wants the V6 that isn’t a fleet company. Replace it with the 2.7T, make it the middle trim and put the EcoBoost as the first trim option (similar to the Camaro). 2.7T is rated at 330hp so it makes more sense IMO, about on par with the V6 in the Camaro.

Would love a 4-door coupe based on the Mustang for Lincoln. That way it can get AWD optional and the 400hp 3.5L Ecoboost engine that’s going in the MKZ. I’m sure they could make a version with the 2.7L for just over $40k.

I thought they had a 3L ecoboost in trucks, but it seems not. The 2.7L would be acceptable.

Why not make it AWD too?

Weight. :-)

tbf, if weight’s a factor why are you even looking at a mustang?

Nope only 2.7 and 3.5. Then the N/A 3.7

There is a new 3.0L turbo in the new MKZ, 400 hp and tq

I’d buy it, but they’ll never put it in a Mustang, it’d be better than the GT around the track. The Lincoln idea is a great way around this though!

I mean I guess if it was a Lincoln brand mustang then sure but that doesn’t go into anything in the Ford stable right now

True, but that's their newest engine and Ford and Lincoln seem to share everything else.

Might end up with a Continental with the 5.0...

All the bits are there for a lower volume, lighter weight, 3.5 ecoboost SVO model - $38,500 base, $43,000 loaded up.

Having driven a Taurus SHO hard, its not about the weight, per say. It's about weight distribution. the transverse mount V6 is what kills this, however if you were take the 3.5 EB and put it into a traditional north south configuration like GM's alpha platform or even the Ford S550 with AWD, the car would be a killer. o-60 in 5.1 seconds is fast for the current 4400lb SHO. I anticipate sub 5 seconds from the Fusion Sport. "325" hp (I say this because the motor is super underrated) and 700lbs lighter than the SHO. All I pray for is that Ford lets you turn off Stability Control in the Fusion Sport, even then weight balance wont be optimal, but it will still be the best and fastest Twin Turbo V6 car out there in the sub 40k range.
