And now I have some.
+5 points to “ridiculousness”
EDIT: also I fixed my lights so now they actually pop up, and I put on my center caps. Yay!

Jake the ricer is your new name.

Your car is turning quite into the Miata parody!

There’s a red Miata around the corner from my work that yours now reminds me of. It has some new frippery on it weekly, it seems, and is dumped on the ground. Stickerbombed, GT wing, stretched tires, the whole deal. I’m pretty sure it’s a joke.

Freaking love it. What about a LED light bar on top of the windscreen next? (I have a weird obsession with light bars)

Paint/plasti-dip the mirrors black, it’ll look good.
Also, I still recommend plasti-dipping the windshield frame black.

You're going full clubroadster.com on that.

Well do you have extras
![]() 05/18/2016 at 22:06 |

color the mirrors the same color as the wheels, or the stickered door

I’m not sure what I want to do as far as that goes. Part of me wants to go “full retro” and get smoothie steelies and make it look all Triumph Spitfire/MG MGB style

Eeeh, stickerbombing and loud-ass colored wheels aren’t really clubroadster things, and I’ve only seen three member-owned cars on there with fender mirrors. I’ve loved fender mirrors since the first time I saw a Datsun 280z

Man I wish I had bullet mirrors. Those were $60 apiece and these were $15 for both, though. So I’ll live. I am considering the plastidip thing, though.

Eeeh, that’s a bit... tacked-on.

This weekend I’m getting a vanity plate that says JDMTYTE

My rule for this is to keep it functional. Make it crazy, make it silly, make it a parody of car culture, but no stretched tires, unusable suspension, or stupidly loud exhaust.

Come on. Even Jake has to draw the line somewhere. lol

still trying too hard to be trendy.

says you after adding fender mirrors :p

That actually looks really nice but I’m not rich enough to even look at that photo.

I draw it somewhere between “dildo shift knob” and “seventeen degrees of camber”. It’s kinda vague.

they are some sort of re-hooped wheel.
![]() 05/18/2016 at 23:51 |

that is the money spent variant. you could always get brave and try to re-hoop/rebarrel some wheels on your own.

actually looks very good

That’s awesome, but the widest steelies I have are 14x5 :/
![]() 05/19/2016 at 07:42 |
|
So how do you adjust these?
![]() 05/19/2016 at 08:03 |
|
Same way as the stock mirrors. Get out of the car, move them, get in the car, figure out how they’re off, get out of the car, move them, repeat. Though unlike the stock ones these don’t move around and get out of alignment every time I go over a bump. Yes, the stock ones have tension adjustment screws, but they’re as tight as they can go.
![]() 05/19/2016 at 08:56 |
|
Do they actually work well?
![]() 05/19/2016 at 09:33 |
|
They vibrate less than the stock ones, but the field of view is severely diminished, so I have to aim them out farther from the car than I’m used to. It’s all a bit weird, but it’s really cool being able to see both of my mirrors without moving my head, and while able to keep the road in my peripheral vision. Not terribly useful for parking, though. I can’t see the line on the ground in relation to my car.

Gotcha. My friend keeps going on about wanting these for his FRS.
![]() 05/19/2016 at 10:00 |

That would look nice. Like a 240Z, which is the car that made me want fender mirrors 5 years ago.

doesnt matter too much, it’ll just kick them further out to the edges of the wheel wells.(if its the right link...... flipping wheel centers) it will make the wheel look wide, without it being wide
