I put drilled and slotted rotors on my 530i. Not because they needed them, but just because it was only a few bucks more. They look good behind the wheels.

I have the non-coated ones but with the same slot pattern on my MR2, I think I installed them last summer sometime. I had previously put some StopTech (reputable brand, figured they’d be good) ones on but they warped after like 2 weeks of daily driving and one autocross weekend. Come to find out they were made from grade-A Chinesium. After finding out the EBC’s were made in the UK I went with those and have had precisely zero issues.

well badass!
I decided I should go with a name brand after my last “OEM replacement spec” ones from the local auto parts store seem to have suffered very quickly.

It’s basically impossible to find parts that aren’t made in China these days, even if you’re willing to spend extra on real quality, they just don’t exist a lot of the time.

Your Civic already has good brakes - I don’t think you’re going to notice any difference in braking feedback or stopping distances except for more brake dust and a lighter wallet. Better start waxing them wheels.

ahah! but! I have bought a brand/model of brake that advertises less brake dust. Guess we’ll see.
100% agree. I’ve never had an issue with the stopping power of my stock brakes. I went with EBC because I was hoping to get a better quality of product, perhaps longevity/reliability increase. Not because I’m hoping for some drastic increase in performance.

ahah to your ahah! The sharp edges of the slots cut into your rotors will act as a deli meat slicer to your brake pads, keeping fresh pad material against the surface of the rotors but also generating plumes of brake dust.

ahah to you ahah of my ahah! those are “dimples” not “slots” (according to the advertising)
honestly, I dunno. I’ve heard similar arguments re. slotted/drilled rotors. These were sold as a package/kit, suggesting that EBC think they work well with their pads...
time will tell if these are worth the money over the OEM replacement type option.
