They didn’t think we would notice that they hired the Subaru B9 Tribeca’s designer for the Sportage? Separated at birth.

I like both...

I feel like there’s just one guy who designs crossovers, and he’s got one car that he sells over and over to every manufacturer.

I really dig the “tiger nose” thing Kia’s been doing lately.

I have to say I like the Kia. It was weird to me at first cuz’ it’s so different than the previous model, but it’s really grown on me. Like a fungus. I dig the 4 square foglights.

Just to keep it fresh they took the rims from the Forester XT.

It actually works on this really well.

Yea in person its surprisingly handsome.

I saw one of these new Kia’s on the highway last week. Made me do a double take. It’s pretty handsome going down the road.

They look nothing alike to me, IMO...
The headlight shape, that’s about it? Maybe the overall body shape (show me an SUV/Crossover that DOESN’T have that same body shape nowadays...)?
The grills and bumper designs are completely different, as are the foglight designs, mirrors, and front valance...?
The Tribeca hood is longer as well...larger engine under there.

Not nearly as bad as the Tribeca. Interesting that I saw my first Tribeca in ... Tribeca. Probably a decent vehicle, but along the lines of the first Pacifica - weighed too much, and shit mileage. But Kia has its shit together.

I don’t like the new Sportage. If they made it look like the last generation, and put new tech and such in it, I would like it better.

I do like the Kia, but it does sort of remind me of this.

I think it looks a lot better in person.

Hmm....good question.
*Focuses into a mighty squint in the general direction of Kia’s HQ*
Ok....yeah wait, I got something.......nope, its just some gibberish. I don’t speak Korean.

I was just talking about as far as the front fascia.

The last gen was alright. I hated the rear lower bumper reflectors though.

Yeah, I agree.

These cars look nothing alike. At all

I really wanted to hate the new Sportage since it took the classy understated looks of the last one and tossed it in a blender with some ice cubes (see fog/running lights). Now, I must admit, it’s growing on me. Especially dat ass.

In person it works so much better than in pictures. It looks german in a good way.

They should’ve just put the Sedona’s front end on it

This is what I see when I look at that Kia.

I think they nailed it. Not so different to the Tribeca, but much less offensive.
