It’s been price dropped a second time, now it’s $5995. MrsZtp says no though. Which is a bummer because I really like this car. Hopefully the price keeps dropping so it'll be more feasible, and then a miracle for MrsZtp to say yes to it.

Meh, you don’t want the 2+2 anyways, go for the 2 seater

Uh, does she even 4-spoke alloy?

There is always a way to swing the numbers in your favor. At some point the 280 will follow the 240 in terms of appreciation. Don’t think of this as another car, it’s more like an investment where your return is going to be much greater and secure than playing the stock market. How often can you say . You get a nice car for some years and she can enjoy a bit of the profit when it comes time to flip it. You are happy, she is happy and oppo is happy as another car joins the fold.

The 2+2 looked good because the whole family could go for a ride, :)

Well I suppose that does have appeal then! I used to own a 1983 280ZX 2-seater and I loved it. Great cars and mine was 100% reliable the entire time I owned it

I'm really curious why no one has jumped on this car yet. It even has the 2.8 L engine, just non-turbo.

What exactly are her objections to this purchase?

Thing is, if I bought it, it would be driven as much as possible, on dirt roads; it wouldn't be the same car afterwards, lol.

We don’t have the money. Plus, we just got the Grand Prix and still paying for it.
It would be interesting to see how much the price drops for this though.

Considering the mileage, this is now in NP territory. Probably going to need some aged parts replaced, but this is reasonable.

Yeah, no idea where parts could be had though. This is muscle car territory.

It’s the price. That’s really high for a 2+2 car.

Probably. This is muscle car territory, foreign makes arent too popular around here unfortunately

There are some really great online resources for parts for old Zs.

Yeah it’s low mileage but it’s an auto non turbo....they should just preserve it in the showroom or something. Not like someone is out there dying to carve some canyons in this thing.

6k is probably not a laughable chunk of your income... It’s really a lot of money for what it is.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 10:08 |

Didn’t the price start at like $15k for this thing?
![]() 05/12/2016 at 10:28 |
|
Correct, it did. This is the second price drop.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 10:50 |

What? You can get anything stock for any Z and add aftermarket options onto that. Sure the S30 and 300zx will have more but these are included in the cateloges.
![]() 05/12/2016 at 11:11 |

Now it’s at a reasonable price. $15k was a, “So, it’s not really for sale” price.

needs more price drop

39k miles...mmm. I dont trust it. Either it’s been picked up for so long or someone rolled back the odometer. Better to have a car with high mileage than less. The engine wouldn’t even been broken in yet.
