Why do people do this...
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:52 |
|
Why do you think it was a 300zx?
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:54 |
|
Headlights, at least
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:54 |
|
They really did use the 300ZX headlights on it.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:54 |

Headlights. And it has Lambo badges while obviously not being a Lambo.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:54 |

The Diablo uses 300zx headlights.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:54 |
|
The headlights, man.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:55 |
|
The Diablo and EB110 used the headlights from Nissan.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:55 |

Headlights, which were borrowed from the 300 for the Diablo starting in 1999.

I forgot about that... You're right. What could it have been made of?
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:55 |
|
How is it not a Lambo?
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:56 |
|
When in doubt, Fiero.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:58 |

Anyone else want to confirm its not a real Lambo? Nothing seemed to fit right.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:58 |

TIL
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:59 |
|
So it’s a real Diablo.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:59 |
|
Just looking at it. Also if it was real it wouldn't be on the back of a Lincoln. More like enclosed car trailer.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 13:59 |
|
Unobtanium? Pretty sure this is real.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:00 |
|
The lights apparently do say that the lights were made by Nissan for Lamborghini.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:01 |
|
Pretty sure that’s the hallmark of a pre-Audi Lambo.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:01 |
|
I don’t know. I’ve seen some older supercars being towed around before.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:01 |
|
Thoseare fake Lambo wheels on a fake Lambo.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:02 |
|
That...might actually be a Diablo GTR. Some details are off but the ones that are on look pretty on.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:03 |
|
Appears so, with some ugly wheels. Or its a REAAAALLLLY good fake with some ugly wheels.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:03 |
|
Realllyy????
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:03 |
|
Ya know, i think thats actually a legit diablo.
Stick to toyotas my friend.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:04 |
|
Saw this a couple of years ago. Parked in the street. With no one to ask all those questions that instantly popped up in my mind.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:05 |
|
It’s supposed to be a Diablo GT, but there are no NACA ducts on top of the fenders, and the roof scoop is too far forward, and there should be large empty opening at the rear flanks, not strakes. Plus, look at how crappy the window glass fits against the A-pillar.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:05 |
|
if its a copy, its a very good copy.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:06 |
|
Oh yah?
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:06 |
|
The duct is almost at the windshield, every GTR it end behind where the driver's head would be.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:07 |
|
Can’t confirm, buuuuut:
Quarter gills look different.
Turn signals look high
Can’t tell but looks like fender vents are missing
and maybe the biggest one:
Open towing a $500,000 car that is supposedly 1 of 4 in the US on a rented U-Haul trailer
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:08 |
|
Look at the duct on the top but other then that I’m starting to doubt myself. It just doesn’t look right in person.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:08 |
|
yeah, that’s one of the things throwing me off. The side ducts don’t look quite right either
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:08 |
|
It’s definitely fake. The window glass is all sorts of fucked up and the wheel offset is horrendous.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:09 |
|
I’m like 99% certain that it’s a real 99 GT.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:10 |
|
I can’t tell if some of these people are trolling or not trying to convince me it’s real. I would much rather see a real one but I'm so set on it being a copy. Nothing about it seems exactly right.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:11 |
|
On the back it said GTR
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:12 |
|
This is a real one. Notice the marker lamp in front of the front wheel as well as the roof scoop and windshield top is in a different location.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:13 |
|
Only 30 made
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:13 |
|
Someone said it's a 99 GT which seems to have the right scoop.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:14 |
|
Looks like a nice day.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:15 |
|
It's 81 but humid. Alwlmost always a pretty day in Middle Tennessee.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:16 |
|
The one in my picture is further back. This is a real gt. The car you saw was likely a fiero kit car, albeit a nice one. The rear scoop isn't correct either in the details.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:16 |
|
They’re trolling you. I assure you it’s a kit. A decent kit, probably tube frame, but definitely not a real Diablo. You can fake body panels pretty easily, but custom making window glass and finding a chassis with the exact same wheelbase and track width are nigh impossible without using the original parts. A real Diablo’s windshield doesn’t curve away from the A pillar, nor could I fit my head in the fender gap on a real one.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:17 |
|
The A and B pillars are telling me thats a fake.

It always baffles me how people spend so much money on these replicas and never address wheel gap and track (width). Adjustable coilovers and spacers (or wider wheels with the same offset) and it would actually look decent.
Then again, maybe it’s not really a surprise at all.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:30 |
|
Given me an idea for buying a real one (or any old super car for that matter) and changing just a few little things to make car nuts think it’s fake.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:31 |
|
Yeah, my thoughts too. Seems too specific to be a kit.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:32 |
|
It would work. All you would have to do is adjust the coil overs up haha.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:33 |
|
*Diablo and R390
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:33 |
|
I forgot about the R390, but the EB110 used them as well.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:38 |
|
I now see why the Diablo had its B pillars painted black...

Are you able to check the license plate for me?
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:41 |
|
That is it exactly.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:43 |
|
Are you sure about that? I don’t think I’ve ever heard that.
Look different to me.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:44 |

McMike’s already closed the case.

Hmm. Maybe not.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:46 |
|
Now I‘m just trying to figure out what they based it on.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:50 |
|
Literally the first result if you Google diablo GTR kit.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:50 |
|
I haz a sad :( I was hoping Fiero.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:53 |
|
Haha that's great. If I didn't have my sister typing for me while I drive I would have started doing some searching
![]() 05/10/2016 at 14:54 |
|
Ah that's genius!
![]() 05/10/2016 at 15:00 |
|
C’mon, that is obviously a desirable Lamborghini.
![]() 05/10/2016 at 15:18 |

It’s always the wheel arches. Always.
