So, basically, no eating out for the rest of the month.

Tell me more. Whats under the hood?

Can you lend me monies so I can also buy more than the one DD Korean ecobox thing I currently own? :O

Darcars? That's unfortunate. Congrats! Good looking Challenger! Those wheels are the best wheels. Other than the Brass Monkey Hellcat wheels.

It’s refreshing to see something that isn’t a Scat Pack or Hellcat. Good choice.

That is a totally acceptable reason to eat ramen for a few months.

They didn’t beat me up too bad - threatened to walk out a bunch of times, they took $3k off MSRP and did give me more on the trade than it was realistically worth.

No eating out the rest of the month
Well what about... nevermind.

Just the Pentastar. It’s the SXT Plus model. With how much I drive, and how much time I spend in traffic, I tend to put more emphasis on the interior.

I’ll sell you my Lincoln, if you want.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:29 |

Is it bad I still buy ramen from time to time?
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:29 |

I love it. The Challenger looks great
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:30 |

Oh glad to hear they weren't too bad. Sounds like a good deal.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:32 |

All things considered, I think I made out OK.
Don’t like going into debt, of course, but I am a millennial after all, and from what I hear, we’re all supposed to have some.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:32 |

No thanks, I respect it, but it is definitely not my vehicular preference...I prefer things that are a little more rusty, smaller, often Italian, less reliable, and less comfortable with a smattering of much less utility :P

Nice ‘muscle’ car
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:35 |

As long as you pay it, an auto loan isn't half bad! Builds some decent credit history. And you get cool car out of it in your case.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:37 |

My employer’s monthly car usage allowance more than covers the payment, but I could swing it just fine even without that. Still, debt is debt.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:45 |

Meh, didn’t really buy it for that. Only the SRTs and Hellcats are really true muscle cars anyway.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 20:45 |

Just bought a 12-pack of chicken flavored Top Ramen. So, no, it’s not bad.

There are TT and Supercharger kits that can solve the power problem without killing mileage, but I know the feeling. I wouldnt mind a 4 banger or a light V6 right now.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 21:00 |
|
For me, it’s more about cost than mileage. A loaded R/T Plus is quite a step up financially, and at that point, there are far more prestigious cars for the money.

That rabbit is in better shape than me.

V6 Challenger, though.

Any more offensive than a 4-cylinder Mustang with fake engine sounds?
Or, much worse, a 4-cylinder big Cadillac?
![]() 05/08/2016 at 21:25 |
|
Not exactly a direct comparison since the Challenger is bigger and more of a cruiser than the Mustang.
But 4 cylinder Mustangs are also wrong.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 21:30 |

Yes, the size difference is kind of striking. It’s more of a full-size coupe than a pony car. Rides like a big sedan too.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 21:38 |

Challenger is ten inches longer than the Mustang. It’s definitely a full size coupe.
Length : 188" vs 198"
Width : 75" vs 76"
Height : 55" vs 57"
Weight : Ecoboost 3,532 lbs vs 3,834
![]() 05/08/2016 at 21:49 |
|
And you feel every bit of the size, both positive and negative aspects. The negative is that it isn’t as nimble - the positive is that it rides a lot like my Town Car, very smooth, definitely more of a boulevard cruiser, which is kind of what I was looking for.
Also, the trunk seems a lot more useful, the back seats aren’t as much of a penalty box, and you can get three back there. So, for as much as I drive for work and with as much crap as I often need to haul, I think this is going to be a better day to day fit.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 22:31 |

That a factory roof? Because the Signature 925 fits in a Challenger just fine and it’s quite a bit wider. Like 37"x 19"
That looks like it can’t be more than 33"
![]() 05/08/2016 at 22:49 |
|
That’s the factory one. I wouldn’t have ordered the car that way, but it has it.

Priorities.
![]() 05/08/2016 at 22:55 |

Ive only bought 10+ year old cars because of similar reasons, its what I can definitely afford.
Will say though, I love how the Challengers look, so I cant fault you any which way. The newer Pentastars arent slouches either.
In a month you’ll have to let us know how youve been liking it. Is it the new daily?
![]() 05/08/2016 at 23:01 |

My only other car is an ‘84 Town Car, so, this would be pretty much it.

Not eating = adding lightness.
![]() 05/09/2016 at 21:40 |

Only for a month? finance told me I’d be malnourished before I caught back up.

Eh, the downpayment wiped out half my checking and I like to always keep at least a couple months’ expenses on hand, so will have to tighten a little for the next few weeks to recoup. .
