Having broken my collar bone, there was no way for me to swap over my summer tires. I was expecting to have to drag them to a tire shop just to get them on. Instead my partner offered to do it for me.
Other than showing her where tools were, she did the whole thing.
A competent partner who enjoys both car work and helping me. And who happens to be beautiful, intelligent and lots of fun. Lucky, lucky me.

Thanks. I had lots of fun with them.

Off topic: why is she your “partner” and not your “girlfriend?” I honestly thought you were gay when referring to...well, your partner.
On topic: she’s awesome! Hope you recover soon, broken bones suck=/

She wasn’t comfortable with being called my girlfriend when we started seeing each other due to past relationship stuff with her. So I used that term as it was one she was ok with, and now it is just habit.

Knowing is half the battle!
What’s that 60s GM truck sneaking it’s way into the first pic?

Whats that wooden thing in your garage? Curious :)

A replica Fallout Vault door. I’m building it as the stage backdrop for performances at Templecon .

It’s my ‘64 C10, it is both my ongoing restoration project and supplies run truck. Unfortunately I can neither work on it or drive it until the collar bone heals.

I was confused as well.

Oh, heck. That’s nice!
I’m torn on old pickups. They look great restored but they also look great weathered and working.

I’m with you on that, but this one is a little too rusty to just leave and not rebuild.

Damn!
A friend has a 65 stepside where the body looks great (Louisiana sun baked) , the structure looks great, but the firewall is cheese. He wound up tearing it down for a full resto. It’s been a 15 year project now, just like the Knucklehead in his garage. But it’s paid for so who cares?

I always Liked the Xb, some how looks better with mismatched body panels.

A few days ago my girlfriend started mentioning Isetta 300s again. I looked at pricing and depending on the market when I get there, we’re going to buy a project Isetta and shes going to learn about restoring cars with that.
Cant wait for it either. I think it will be better for her than she knows.

That is awesome.

My girl can’t swap tires BUT she did help me build jumps on the beach for my RC car. She even went out and scouted a better jump location! We’re lucky dudes.

I call Travis my boyfriend, my partner, or my SO interchangeably.

I don't know, Pixel...it's only May and this is Rhode Island. You sure it's safe to switch to summer tires? Sometime around August is when I'd feel comfortable.

Good luck. That’s awesome. Isettas are a blast. I’ve owned a 600 and helped wrench on many 300's. You should join the microcar club when you get it. Always lots of good Isetta info.

When I get there I definitely will! She even has the colors picked out, the Teal/Off-White combo. Theres no changing her mind, and Im not complaining.

That's a good paint scheme. My favorite is weinrot which is like a burgundy color with the off-white. I'm actually stealing that combo for my Fuldamobil when it's finally ready for paint.

When you marry her, buy her some power tools. She will appreciate them over time. My wife did. . .

I think you meant to reply to Pixel.

Right you are. . .
But I did think of you when I posted this a while back:

I’m living dangerously. In another coupe months I might even put the snowblower away.

You are a lucky guy. There is few things more annoying than a girl who thinks she can’t do “man stuff” and is totally stubborn and unwilling to try new things. Doubly so when they demand men do what might be called “girly things”. Awesome she even used an impact!

Not only did she want to learn how to do brakes, but after I showed her how to do them on one side of her car, she did the other side herself. With me only watching to make sure she got it right.
