Fifteen people in line, four workers standing around behind the counter, and um... only one station open.

And they all manage to look bored and oblivious to your presence. They much teach that in a class or something.

I think they’re just dead inside is all.

Is that why all my packages get lost?

Not DMV, but essentially the same

Some of them (especially in cities) are really rude. :(
I like the one at my post office though. We always talk about hockey.

I have often wondered just what it is about working the post office that makes people absolutely stop giving any fucks at all.

Quit shipping product to Canada/International because of this reason.

That is stereotypical union employees in a nutshell.

Gosh that is horrifyingly depressing. Yet somehow, I chuckle. lol

Vending machine as metaphor for life. Unexpectedly apropos.

And what’s the deal with airline food?

Sounds about right. They are not run in customer centric fashion.

4 workers making between $23.87/hr to $26.56/hr standing around and only one counter open.

Simple. They all make around $50,000 per year and their checks cash regardless of performance.
I’ve experienced both the “above and beyond” worker and the completely useless worker in the same PO. Once in the same day!

Damn. I need a government job.

I rarely go to the PO any more, but there was one near UT that had the greatest employees of any PO I’d ever been to. I would drive across town just to go to that particular station. The one that serves my address, though, is horrible. You can sense the despair when you walk in the door.

Watch your mouth, I’m union and I work my ass off

eww hockey

I said stereotypical. Like every job there are the ones who work hard and there are those that don’t.

The union makes me essentially unfireable but I’m not one of those people that takes advantage of that.

That is my main issue with Unions. The inability to fire consistently under performing workers (see public school teachers). Also, there are some ludicrous union hourly rates and rules I have come across for the dumbest shit.
