I went back to the junkyard because I forgot to pull the door sticker for the VIN. The dash cluster was pulled so I had no idea what the mileage was on the Bronco. So I was hoping to get an approximate mileage and history on the truck.

If it’s a 93 it’s probably been exempt for quite some time now.

Exempt?

The yard you pulled it from should have recorded the mileage when they got the vehicle. Call them and ask if they have the information available. Alternatively, they should have marked the year/mileage on the vehicle somewhere noticeable while it was in the yard.
If you’re going to rebuild the engine it shouldn’t matter, should it?

The DMV wouldn’t be checking the mileage when it’s registered anymore. So it might not be recorded anymore.

The colorado dmv checks mileage. When I ran a carfax on my truck it showed mileage at every registration. Also they asked for my mileage when I registered it last year and it too is a 93

What was the website with a free loophole?

Just called the yard and they dont record mileage. And I just kinda want peace of mind

No loophole, just MyCarFax. It’s a free service for keeping track of vehicle maintenance. The include service records but not crash data. It can also obtain vins from plates.

But wasnt there a website like carfax with an http loophole to use it for free?

Ok. Then you gotta hope the odo didn’t stop working.
I mean you bought a dirt cheap junkyard engine. You can’t be expecting a low mileage garage Queen

They all dried up about a year ago. They did a big security overhaul. Most of my old contacts were AutoChecks anyway.
But still, your v8 has 191,000 on it, at least.

yeah it’s called motosnoop but it hasn’t been fully functional lately, that’s why I gave you everything it would kick out.

Also good luck. You’re already proving my doubts wrong by actually doing this.

You had doubts about me doing a v8 swap?

We all talk about doing awesome car things all the time. Few of us ever do them. Great for you, we’re rooting for you.

Also, there is no real reason to replace your 4.0. It leaks some oil but it’s still pretty solid and low millage. It still seems like an overreaction.
Stop justifying it by saying you need to replace your engine, justify it because you just want to. Nothing wrong with that.
