The metal is so weak and rotten the jacking point I welded to just fell. I welded to that since its the thickest steel along the sill and even that had rusted out. The PO had covered a lot of problems with hard drying sealant hence us not discovering it until it was too late. The rot is so far advanced it looks like the car is scrap. It needs big repairs and that’s all well and good if it was a long term project and I was a fantastic welder but it isn’t and I’m not. (Although my welding is better than in the pic those are just quick and dirty tack welds for mocking up) So off to the big scrappie in the sky it goes.
