My first modification to the smart in almost a year!
At my new workplace, I have access to nearly 30 some odd broken tablets (most of them software and/or hardware faults). And basically, I can keep any tablets I fix. Unfortunately, all but two of them are crappy low-budget tablets with a viewing range of like 3 degrees lol. Like, low res, slow quad core processors, and more bugs than a bad motel.
I gave one of the good ones (both are Samsung Tab 3) to Miss Tesla and the other to myself. I also fixed up two bad ones, one just because I wanted to (and to use for tech at work), and the other for this:
The smart’s radio has a hard plastic surface for the screen, perfect for mounting a small tablet using a Barnacle mount. It stays put and doesn’t damage the screen of the radio!
Now I have much easier access to media, maps, and even really cool car apps! And since my car is bluetooth enabled, I don’t need any more cables than the charger! Great use for a crappy tablet.
It’s like a low budget version of what the new smarts can do:

Very cool. Do you have one of those OBDII Bluetooth plugs for your car? There are some really neat features on Apps like Torque that show real time engine data.

That’s what the little Ultragauge doo-dad to the left does. It’s plugged into the OBD and reads any data the little smart will provide...plus easy resetting of CELs!

Nice. I’ll have to look into one of those, rather than wearing out my Nexus 9 battery.
