Wow this is awful. Everything about this is awful. There’s orange peel, there’s more runs than there is consistent paint, the color is terrible (I was imagining several shades darker), the prep is/was terrible. Meh. Learning experience.

Get a fuck ton of sand paper. Have fun.

Wait a second. You did all the prep right?
Single stage paint? Rub it out!

Now if you don’t put a Leaping Jaguar on the hood like right now, we’re no longer friends.

Hey at least you had the balls to actually paint that shit yourself.

You must.

Well. It’s very green. So that part was a success.

Well. My prep consisted of not sanding the flaking parts as much as I should have, not taking the entire hood and trunk down to bare metal because of how many deep scratches (that I couldn’t really see) were in the paint, and then roughing up all of the paint with some sandpaper.
Then shooting it.
I forgot to wipe off the car, too.
And it was 100% humidity and 65 degrees. Fun shit.

Plastidip is easier. Plastidip is oh so much easier. The Miata is getting plastidip. This “painting” stuff is nonsense.

That’s the color I was going for. It is not the color I got. Also, sure is John Deere up in this business.

Congrats car is greened.

How about “Green Meanie”?

Yeah. I’m loving this!
A hero!

You’re more enthusiastic than I am. I need to find some sort of livery I can turn this into that isn’t total bollocks. Maybe it’ll look passable after some buffing.

I guess you are a bit limited. Sand and buff?
Or find a way to go over the top with it.

Color of money though.

haha, it does look awful indeed, but it’s still pretty fucking cool :)
Maybe try to polish it as much as possible to give it some kind of a natural car-color feel, at least :)

Either add a gold racing stripe, a la Lotus, or just say fuckit, and paint the wheels bright yellow and add a ‘Deere’ decal

Now absolutely no one will have any idea wha your car is. But hey, I wouldn’t have even tried painting it myself, so good on you for just going in elbow deep

Green and gold is a fantastic color combination. I really wish it turned out more of a BRG.
