Why?

Of all the cars they could’ve chosen to make a scale model of and sell in pharmacies, why the Gumpert Apollo? What kid is going to walk into CVS and say “YES A GUMPERT APOLLO WHAT I’VE ALWAYS WANTED!”

While the Gumpert is a very strange car for a toy company to recreate, in my opinion it is not the ugliest car in this picture, largely because the picture contains a Lamborghini Veneno.

Counterpoint: a Gumpert looks like a supercar and probably had very cheap license fees to pick up. What left me more baffled was the Johnny Lightning Dodge Monaco taxi. Ok, I did buy it. Shut up.

Those pharmacy cars are always some interesting models. I’ve seen things like Chevy Trailblazers and stuff. Things you wouldn't consider to make a great model.

Because Kinsmart was one of the few to have a Gumpert license. As RamblinRover said, it probably wasn't too expensive.
