ARE YOU A NASHVILLE OPPO?
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:36 |

Nope, found it on their website while looking up info about the Citroen Cogolin.

That’s unfortunate. I live about 20 minutes from there. I know what I’m doing next time after next I get home from college

I’ve been there, and it’s glorious. When you go, be sure to pay for the basement tour. It’s 100% worth it.

Also, I wanted to see whatever old Citroen you owned because I have a secret crush on Citroens.

I went a probably almost a decade ago which is crazy because I was 11. Almost half my life haha. I really need to go back but I feel like I have to find something cool to go there in.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:39 |

I really want to go. It’s so close.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:40 |

I’m very close. I’ll have to make it up there sometime.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:42 |

Sadly, I haven’t owned any Citroens (yet). I was looking up this beast:

Bring Slowrunner and we’ll have a Opponaut Field Trip in our FJ

Actually, the parking lot was surprisingly mundane when I was there. The most interesting (non Lane owned) thing was a FiST.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:42 |

Is that at Lane? I’m still working through the collection page.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:43 |

DOOOO IIIITTTTTT. It’s worth it. Best out of any museum or show I’ve ever seen.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:44 |

Yep! You can see it peeking out from behind the Corphibian!

I saw a E30 M3 when I was there but that was back when they were cheap. I just remembered the BMW guy going wow that’s not a common car.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:45 |
|
HAHAHAHAHAHA..... I’d have to stop like 3 times for gas just on the way up.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:46 |

The Barbers museum isn’t bad, it’s just I know nothing about motorcycles. I would like to do more car museums.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:47 |

I’ll drive from Brentwood to Lane. Should save you a half tank haha.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:47 |
|
I dunno, if you look at the Lane’s BMWs, it looks as common as a Camry . . . .
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:48 |

I’ve been to a Concours, and the Lane topped it. However, I like under powered crappy vintage European cars, so keep that in mind.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:49 |

Haha yeah... I’ll probably take the FJ40, my 296,000 mile LS400, or the 338,000 mile Rx400h lol.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:50 |
|
I assure you all of those meet the Lane Jalop criteria, especially the FJ.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:51 |
|
Not that bad. Only a 3 hour drive.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:51 |
|
The FJ40 has a Chevy engine, Ford rear end, jeep transfer case, and mini pickup hubs haha. The Rx is the car every Jalop hates because it’s a hybrid sport utility but it does have 338k miles.

I’ll look at any car. My favorite from Cars and Coffee is a Mazda Rotary truck so..... I’m weird too.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:53 |

I’ve driven between Nashville and Knoxville four times and Nashville and Birmingham once over the 4 weeks. 3 hour drives are commutes seemingly these days.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:55 |
|
That’s a horrible commute.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:56 |

Ehhh getting ready for a big surprise at home and the 2:45 drive is a lot nicer from Nashville to Bham then the all of 4 hours from Knoxville to Bham
![]() 04/06/2016 at 22:59 |
|
US Multipla too!
![]() 04/06/2016 at 23:16 |

If your favorite is a Mazda Rotary Truck, then I think you’ll like the Lane. If you go, buy the basement tour. It’s worth it.

It sounds like it’s hobbled together out of junk parts . . . . congrats, you win the internet!
On a serious, how did you get all of the parts to coexist into a functioning vehicle? Was is easy (just a few bolts) or hard?
![]() 04/06/2016 at 23:18 |

And Tatras!
![]() 04/06/2016 at 23:22 |

No clue. My dad built it for 4 wheeling. A lot of it not too bad from what I can tell and was done in a driveway. We’re working on restomodding it with a 2UZ-FE drivetrain and fixing the body and interior though.
![]() 04/06/2016 at 23:27 |

Are there more dorito powered cars?
![]() 04/07/2016 at 11:36 |

curious about the Rx with that many miles, how many of the original hybrid batteries are still working & if/when did you have to replace any of them?
![]() 04/07/2016 at 11:40 |
|
So my dad (who worked at Toyota and Lexus until 2006 when he opened up his own shop) always says the normal point in which the batteries start failing is around 250k. That’s for the weaker batteries(not including the anomalies). When they do need replaced we compare it to the cost of a transmission. Honda batteries meanwhile are lucky if they get to 50k...
![]() 04/07/2016 at 12:36 |
|
wow, even though its a Toyota, I expected 200K max for the hybrid batteries would be more in line with average expected total life, 250K avg. is impressive
![]() 04/07/2016 at 12:39 |
|
Yeah they are extremely good. They do need to figure out the range but the longevity is not a problem.

A Citroen M35!
