Almost tempting. But, I’d rather wait a few months and have a new car.

Eh, for a couple thousand more you could snag one in far better condition.

Probably was a sloppy manual at the time, so that wouldn’t be too big of a deal.

Yeah, I’m not really considering it, just a fun little thought. I’d buy an MR2.

Oh I definitely would too!

Oh, I see that you’re not actually considering buying one. Well, I has a sad now.
I was going to say that it’s nice that it’s an 88 and especially a Formula. But I wouldn’t deal with an automatic personally. And I didn’t buy an 88 because of the improvements. Try finding parts for a one-year setup that sold 26,402 versus 343,766 over the previous four years in addition to a lot more parts-sharing.
Overall it’s not a terrible price for a Formula... just I would wait to find one without the compromises. And I’m guessing you’re not looking for a project as big as that one could be.

If I were to be looking for a 1980's mid-engined car, I’d be looking for a MR2.

Fair enough. One point, you should always be looking for an 80's mid-engined car. And second point, that would just mean we would have to race each other. And that all sounds fair to me!

I’m in the market for something new and reliable now, so that’s out of the question for a few years.
