If I could get the looks of the C4 with the technology of the C5 that would be neat.

Yes. Yes they are.

We got a C4 on a trade when I was working at Jaguar.
It broke down in the wash bay. They had to tow it out. It had <50,000 miles on it. It kinda killed C4's for me because it was such a pain in the ass.

C5 with tech from the C7.
I mean, just look at it.

The C4 is the Corvette that I find aesthetically unpleasant. Given my druthers I’d have a C3.

Agreed. I could not own one of these without messing with it and the 80's-early 90's tech could make that bad news.

Question:
Was it an LT1 car, and did they try to wash the engine bay?

We got this on a trade for a Silverado. Has something like 75k on it.

True, but no sawblades

How about the interior room of the C6? I’m cramped in the C4, OK in the C5, and the C6 is big enough inside that I can drive it just fine.

I don’t think TBI and a manual transmission will give you that many issues.

Sawblades are dangerous man #BanCars
![]() 03/25/2016 at 13:31 |

Yes and yes. I’m guessing it’s a known issue?

Really clean C4, can’t get past that interior though. Make it a tan interior and I’m in.

I did not know the definition of cramped until I climbing into the back of a Veloster last night. Good god that 3rd door opening was bad.

Looks to be in great shape. Though I’m not a fan of the red-on-red. In fact, I don’t like red interiors at all, unless it’s a white C1.

I knew it!
That is the cardinal rule of LT1 ownership. Don’t intentionally wet your Opti. Road spray/rain, no problem, but if you get soaking water in it from the top it will foul the whole distributor.
They are really great engines, you just need to be careful with a few things. Moisture on the opti is #1.

Bestvette.

Sawblades were made for chopping off baby feet. #TrueFact #BanCars

It looks like an 80s sex dungeon

I don’t like ALL red interiors, but black/red two-tone is nice.

Corvettes in general are fabulous cars. They gain an unfortunate reputation in automotive circles due to the relative affordability compared to the exotic crowd.

Still my favorite gen of Corvette.

As much as I want a C5 Z06 someday, I love the C4s even more. God, those sawblades. It’s all probably nostalgia, and the fact that C4s defined the future of all vetted. And I’ll always be a sucker for pop up lights.

Not a TBI, that’s an LT1

I’d be satisfied with an early C4 with the Gran Sport drivetrain. MMm LT4

Ah. I was referring to the L83 cars, thinking they would be the worst maintenance-wise.

I’m so torn between one of these or a miata, it isn’t even funny. I know they’re apples to oranges, but for a cheap, fun car they aren’t far apart. More like oranges to tangerines?
![]() 03/25/2016 at 15:38 |

...and the problem with this is what, exactly?
![]() 03/25/2016 at 15:48 |

Did I say it was a problem? :D I’m a sucker for a good sex dungeon.

Aren’t we all? I have a bad habit if commenting without looking who I’m replying to... that said, now I feel like an idiot

I would totally daily drive a red-on-red 6-speed C4
