It’s awesome, soooo much fun to drive around! I’m not gonna go all DeMuro on you guys but if you have any questions let me know!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:22 |

That looks amazing!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:23 |

Thanks man, it’s an ‘89 that had one previous owner and about 42k miles on the clock!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:24 |

wow, it’s very pretty.
is that a GT badge? what is it, gtr, gt, gts, erm... gt something else?

Congrats! 32s are a blast. Who’d you buy it from, dealer or private seller?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:25 |

how bad is it to reverse into drive through ?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:25 |

The side badging says “GT”, the car is a Skyline GT-R.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:26 |

I’m Cory, that’s me :)
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:26 |

I bought it from Phase9Motorsports out of Anaheim, California and had it trucked in to Nebraska!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:27 |
|
All Skyline GT-R’s had that GT badge.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:27 |
|
That’s why the post is from a week ago?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:27 |

Heh, the shifting took a little bit of getting used to but the toughest part has been the turn signals (on the right side of the wheel) and monitoring the rearview mirror on the left side of my head!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:27 |
|
you sold the Focus ?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:29 |

![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:29 |

Because I haven’t gotten around to posting anything about it here yet?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:31 |
|
A lot of people on here lie about stuff, if you’ve actually bought a Skyline, that’s cool, congratulations. But it definitely has a hint of not being the truth as you can reverse GIS the image and get quite a lot of results. Just saying.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:32 |

Congratulations, very nice find and +10 Car Guy points.
Looking forward to more writing and photos!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:33 |

Did you look more closely? All the results look like they are reposted from the same Instagram source. It doesn’t prove or disprove anything to me.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:34 |
|
I have a few instagram accounts, my personal one and one for my car photos, I also have a facebook page and this IS the internet and as such photos are reposted regularly.
Don’t believe me? Looks on Phase9's facebook, and scroll down a few cars :)

Makes sense to me, sorry for doubting you. Enjoy the R32!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:38 |

Thanks man, I probably won’t modify the car much until next spring; right now I’m concentrating on just touching up things on a 27 year old vehicle! Last weekend I changed out the front diff, rear diff, trans fluid, oil change, and plugs. This weekend I’m going to try and get to the coolant, tcase, attessa, and hicas fluids. The car is in good shape but it’s still old and I want to make sure it’s maintained first!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:38 |
|
Cool car. Does it still have passive rear steering still enabled?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:38 |
|
What wheels are those?
Also any mods or pretty stock?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:39 |
|
Come on, it’s simple: indicators on the window side - the side where your hand on the wheel can drop down and use them - and gears on the interior side. Same on LHD cars. Ok i’ve switched RHD to LHD many times so practice makes that easy to say.
It’s more frustrating in RHD countries where some Euro manufacturers don’t switch the indicators over, so they’re on the gear stick side and you have to take your hand off the shifter to use them, and you forget so you hit the wipers instead.

She’s still in the garage, I was kinda posting it up back and forth on craigslist/facebook but they aren’t worth jack anymore. Honestly, for an enthusiast, a used ST is probably one of the best value cars out there right now.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:40 |

Congrats! I’m hoping I can get a jdm import when graduate!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:40 |

Congrats dude! Thanks for keeping the dream alive!
That thing looks clean !
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:40 |

Soooo jealous. Owned an R32 when i was back in Aus. Miss that car so much. Now in north east US where you get a choice of rusty FWD car or rusty Subaru...
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:44 |
|
Right on, I’m not a big fan of modding, so I’m looking forward to your maintenance/restoration!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:46 |

year / mile ? I want to know whats the going price for them, got a buddy kinda looking to buy some hatchback
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:57 |
|
Sorry man, are you talking about the ST or GT-R? Also, picture for proof/reference :)
![]() 03/24/2016 at 13:59 |
|
Oh yeah, after about a minute it’s all gravy, it’s switching back to my daily and going to work that throws me! I go to change lanes and I’m signaling with my wipers after driving my GT-R :D
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:03 |

The wheels are 17" BBS LM, the only modifications I know of/could find are intake filters, a catback exhaust (still has the cat in place), Cusco coilovers, and the clutch doesn’t feel stock.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:03 |
|
Congrats! That looks awesome.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:06 |
|
Thanks man, the car still has operational HICAS (four wheel steering) but the pump is covered in dust on a very, very thin film of what I can only imagine is the hydraulic fluid. Once I’ve changed out all the fluids my next move will be to install an air/oil cooler in one of the front ducts, and to remove all the HICAS components. Around town it’s actually pretty useful, the car can pull a u-turn on a dime!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:09 |
|
Focus, what are u asking / year / mile
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:11 |
|
Sweet! Congrats! How many broken necks do you get from other petrolheads?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:12 |
|
Keep the dream alive, they’re pretty pricey right now but in a few years I’m sure they’ll drop down quite a bit. Just a few years ago you could buy an R32 Nismo edition for like 17k or so but they’ve skyrocketed in value since they’re legal here now.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:14 |

so good upgrades haha. Ive heard Cusco are pretty good.
Also i love those wheels
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:15 |

Right on, my car is a ‘14 Focus ST3 that stickered for 29,700 originally. The car was built in October of ‘14 so super late in the year. It has 5300 miles on it, still has new car smell, has been dealer maintained (three oil changes so far) for all it’s life WITH documentation and I’d let it go for 21k.
ST3s have: Full leather heated recaros, nav, touch screen infotainment, HIDs etc. Only option I didn’t opt for was a sunroof. The car also has dealer installed rust protection/sound deadening, underbody coating, teflon paint protection, 3m tint, and a 5 year interior protection plan for those recaros!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:18 |
|
Damn. Looks clean.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:18 |
|
If they were 18s it would be perfect but they’re at least better than stock I suppose. The Cusco coilovers are stiff, not unbearable, but a bit stiffer than my buddies Evo X suspension for sure!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:30 |

Any plans to make it esy to switch from awd to rwd
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:32 |
|
Well i need some 17's so you could give them to me :)
The only RHD car i have been in was a Galant VR4 and it was very strange at first haha
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:35 |

location ?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 14:41 |

How did you purchase? From someone that already had it here? From a dealer that already imported it? Or did you buy it in Japan and do the entire process yourself?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:03 |
|
Oh nice! Fredrick and Franz are friends of a friend. They always sell top notch cars.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:15 |
|
I get the reliability factor with removing HICAS but why else remove it?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:24 |
|
On my 300z it made many curve unpredictable. Nothing quite like the vague floating sensation of the system randomly kicking in on mid corner.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:24 |
|
Good work sir! Now let’s see that purdy engine.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:29 |

Omaha, Nebraska!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:30 |
|
Ah, I used to own a GVR4, love those cars!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:31 |

What Tulsa said, also repairing the leak would probably be more of a PITA than just removing the system.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:31 |
|
Thanks man, as I do more I’ll be sure to post about it!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:32 |

From an importer that brought it over to the states, they aren’t “dealers” though so I had to have the car titled in my state myself, and that was not a pleasant process...
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:34 |
|
Here in the states, at least where I’m at they’re really pretty rare. To 95% of the populace this car may as well be a 2dr Camry or something, to the rest though they kinda lose their sh!t. I’ve had people jump in front of me pulling out of a drive through to get a picture, follow and video the car, they’ve all been cool though.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:34 |

Thanks man!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:35 |
|
Thanks, been saving for a while now and this one looked nice!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:35 |
|
Heh, I’ve been waiting to own one of these since about ‘94 or so!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:36 |
|
I kinda looked at one of the controllers or what wiring one in would involve but no plans as of yet.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:38 |
|
Where are you located?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:39 |
|
Omaha, NE
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:41 |
|
Well...... No where close. Anyway, It looks so good. I really want to import a JDM car even if it’s just a weird little van.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:43 |
|
Congrats man. I’ve wanted to pick one up for a while. If you ever feel like driving it down to KC, I’d love to see it!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:45 |
|
I would like to hear what that process was like for you.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:45 |
|
At some point if I sell my ST I’ll probably save up and purchase either this cars lil’ brother, the Pulsar GTiR or maybe a lightly used Silvia.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 15:45 |
|
The GTiR Pulsars are all kinds of awesome.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 16:00 |
|
Haha, that’s why I asked. I’m in the states too, but half of my family has dual citizenship and I have spent a good amount of time in England, so some of the terminology bleeds through (petrolheads).
I’ve only ever seen one on the road, and it was beat! Yours is super nice, enjoy.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 16:22 |
|
I owned an awd talon with the 4g63 and it was a great motor
![]() 03/24/2016 at 16:46 |
|
Well, an R32 in the US costs as much a slightly used rust-free WRX...
![]() 03/24/2016 at 19:18 |
|
Congrats! It’s a super clean car, it looks like. Can you feel the BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 19:59 |
|
In this particular case it’d be more accurate if you said a brand new WRX! =-o
![]() 03/24/2016 at 20:00 |
|
Yeah they’re pretty cool, I don’t think I’ll be taking any road-trips in it anytime soon but KC isn’t too bad of a haul!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 20:02 |
|
Compared to the ST, the lag is REAL. I suppose it’s only 1.3l pushing each T25 though and there’s no dual cam phasers etc but you really have to grab your gears to get her going.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 20:02 |
|
Thanks man it’s pretty nice!
![]() 03/24/2016 at 20:04 |
|
I haven’t taken shots of the bay yet but this was the importers pic. I was considering removing the inlet plenum to either media-blast it or repaint it black but since eventually it’ll be replaced with a Nismo plenum I’ll probably just leave it as-is for now.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 21:50 |
|
No worries man. If you ever see any with mechanical issues or fixer-uppers, definitely let me know. Look forward to seeing more of the car!
![]() 03/25/2016 at 08:14 |
|
Glorious! Well done!
![]() 03/25/2016 at 09:20 |
|
Do it for me.
![]() 03/25/2016 at 12:40 |
|
At some point soon I’ll probably write up a blog post of exactly how I got the car, got it titled, etc. I’m gonna hold off on that for right now though as I’m working through a few issues with the importer.
