I primed the Sploder Bumper today. Its gonna be a couple’s project between me and the GF, so its gonna stay like this until we can paint it together. This is what happens when art students date.

PS: This is my old passenger door that I replaced after I hit that hydrant, I keep it around because its got good glass in it and I don’t feel like pulling the glass out of it.

There is no time for such things! Paint it up and get it fitted already!

Well, I’m still waiting to buy and wire the fogs

Are you doing it body coloured or contrasting? Because if you’re matching the paintwork you can get your bed topper prepped while you wait for the fogs. Kill two birds with one stone by painting both at the same time.

Body color, with a black center section. I can't do the topper, my paint is horrendously difficult to find, Im just gonna leave the topper as is (I only use it in the winter anyway) and repaint the whole truck, topper and all after I get it mechanically sorted post-5.0 swap.

PS, for a full paint job. I’m thinking this blue:

Could you use satin black or a charcoal grey on the topper instead? A good contrast (or juxtaposition, rather. I’m down with the artist lingo.) would work better than repainting the whole truck. I actually like the body colour, and while the slight mismatch on the topper always bugs me a departure in colour will be a lot more cost effective than a full respray!

I might go black to match the wheels and the grille, but thats a project for another day

I struggle with powder blue type paint colour on anything but Polestars and Jags. But then again, even as an ex automotive designer, I have been known to have no taste cars and the colours of said cars especially.

You were an industrial designer?

Specifically automotive, as my university also ran an industrial design course, but yes. Then I stopped it all and started drawing gardens instead which I am absolutely not qualified to do, but it’s weirdly similar. Mostly, both are about good proportions.

That’ll look great! I know you two will do a great job with it. Can’t wait to see pics, or maybe out at the track.
