...that’s not for sale in your country, would you actually do it? What car would it be?
Conditions:
You’d be able to import one car, than you then have to own and use for at least a year. You pay full price in the country you’re importing from and shipping costs. You don’t have to concern yourself with other safety or import laws. RHD, LHD, new, used, anything goes.

I want the Nissan Stagea. But I probably wouldn’t actually import one.

I would keep one of these forever.

What financing on Chargers like?

Assuming new, probably a UAZ. Cheap to buy in the first place, pretty cheap to import, and 4WD full-frame cabover van with DOOM SIZE cabin heater. Just generally sweet. Failing that, a South America market diesel quadcab Ranger.

I know where one of these lives as a catering vehicle.

Or...
The N-One if we’re being realistic, because a lot more companies in Canada import from Japan, and it’s better on fuel, and wayyyyy cheaper to import. But I still want a Clubsport badly.

Exige V6; no questions asked. Keep it RHD. I had a classic mini that was RHD and I really like driving on that side.

only if it’s as RS?Avant!!!

Either a Y61 Patrol or a VDJ76 wagon, no question.
probably the land cruiser because support would be easier and because...well...land cruiser.
You go ahead and look me in the eye and tell me you don’t want a turbodiesel V8 manual transmission wagon with locking front and rear diffs, extended range dual tanks and a snorkle from the factory

Haha, I hear that build quality on those is absurdly shocking. To the point where you’ll have doors that won’t open/close properly on brand new cars because all the machinery is beat to fuck and nothing fits.

Well we can import quite alot of cars, if we’re just willing to cough up the import taxes and stuff.. but the R34 is actually never going to be legally registrable due to some EU emission law shit, so i’d probably pick that...

*looks you in the eye* no, I dont want it.
I NEED IT

Such a bad decision on so many levels, but if I was in the market, I’d consider one of these:

RS6 Avant. I’ve had the same answer for 5+ years.
The M550d touring would also be awesome.

I know it would fall apart 7 days after it arrived... but
probably in that color... or orange... because TVR.

Stagea + full R34 front end & drivetrain conversion = my hypothetical import. Hauling ass and loads of gear simultaneously is a combination I can approve wholeheartedly.

I saw an RS6 in a parking lot for the St Pete Grand Prix and got a touch too excited.

The Stagea Autech package had AWD and an RB25 and a manual. I can’t say that I’m a fan of putting the R34 clip on them.

It’s not bad, but I think that’s what everyone will end up doing when they’re legal in the states.

1999-2002 Accord Euro-R. So much cooler than the ones we got here in the US in that time.

A regular one, a regular diesel one, a ‘performance’ model (the 100HP, which means what it says), a 4x4, a 4x4 diesel or a 4x4 Cross with a differential lock?

Good thing all 126ps are now legal to import to Canada. :D
![]() 03/21/2016 at 17:49 |

Yup, even the newest 2000 models are too even! Yay for 15-year import laws! :)
My province isn’t as harsh on regulations for import as Ontario and British Columbia are either, so no needing to add side-corner markers, etc....pretty much just bring over, insure, register, plate, go! :)

Does it have to be a new one? That’s hard, fewer and fewer automakers are building the kinds of cars I like. I don’t know, maybe a Qishi S12.

I want a 4x4 but in my sensible trousers I know I don’t need it and it’d be more practical to have a regular one.
