I now have the strange urge to trail a Honda Element.

Bad ground clearance.

The Element in that pic is bad to the fuckin bone!
I would LOVE to have that!
My buddy’s Element is a tank. Nearly 300k miles on it. It’s never had any major issues.
Have you ever been in one? They are monstrously huge on the inside and have all sorts of nooks and crannies for storage. It the most utilitarian vehicle I've ever been in. A road-trip machine!

Ursa Minors. cool little rigs, I usually see one or two of them in Moab. My guess is that they will be pretty sought after in a few years. Not Westfalia sought after, but they will still have some value in a decade or so.

Thank you. Now I want one a lot.
Also, 300k on an Element?!? They’re not even that old!

I always saw it as an Aztek done right.

We test drove one before we bought our TDI and decided we couldn’t actually live with it on a day to day basis...especially with kids. Only 4 seats? can’t open the rear doors without unbuckling your seatbelt? The driving position of a school bus and the interior plastics to match? Pass.

True story: my buddy Adam has driven his Element from:
Columbus, Ohio to Seattle and back
From Cincy to Mammouth, CA (where he lived for 2 years so it’s been a daily driver at high altitude, too) and back to Cincy
From Cincy to Omaha and back
From Columbus to Denver
From Cincy to Philly and back, twice
From Cincy to The Smoky mountains (North Carolina) three times.
Seriously....it's a tank!

My best friend in HS had an element. So many shenanagans happened in that thing.

Definitely not for everyone. And the interior plastic is handy in the sense that we have piled a mountain of muddy camping gear and a pack of filthy dogs in it....then sprayed it out with a hose when we were all finished.

My local Honda dealer hosts an Element camp out every year, a few of these show up. We’re saturated with Westfalias around here, so it’s cool to see other pop-top alternatives. I like Elements anyway, so this is doubly cool.
