I should have used a smaller aperture to get a deeper depth of field and get the whole car in focus. Balls.

Normally you’d be a bit of an idiot to drive an s2k on, let’s just say not much tread , in Southern Ontario at this time of year but now it’s 15°C barely a week into March so I can’t blame anyone for wanting to take their summer cars out of hibernation.

Carry on, sir, carry on.

Since my Jeep’s water pump went out on me a few weeks ago I’ve been driving my M3 on Pilot Super Sports (in Minnesota) without any issues. Albeit, we’ve only had one noticeable snowfall since then and I had my Jeep fixed up by then. Driving on Summer rubber in the winter is fine as long as you avoid snow and ice.

Remember when it was 25°C for a week in March?

Yeah me neither. That felt like yesterday.

Yes, but there is still the salt on the road.

I do remember that. St Patrick’s day 2012, it was glorious, good times were had that day.

Approximately all of which will be picked up by his sticky tires and for that I thank him. :)

I’m considering putting my winters away already because these temps aren’t food for the longevity of the snow tires. The winters have only been on for 2 months...

I like to wait till middle of April. You never know when you get a random snow storm or cold snap. It happen last year.

Luckily I’m not really reliant on my car for commuting so I can afford to be on the wrong set of tires early and late in winter without much worry or care about being stuck.

I had the winters stored for that April storm last year. I was getting antsy :)

Well I could provide that S2000 with a lovely warm home down here in sunny California.

Considering how clean it was I suspect the owner is fairly attached to it but you’re free to rescue any that come up for sale up here. It could be advantageous to look in Canada for used cars right now actually because of the exchange rate. As opposed to new cars, you don’t have to pay tax on the purchase price as you wouldn’t register it where you bought so the benfit of our weak dollar is all yours.

That would be nice. Although I imagine trying to register a non-US car in California would be a nightmare because of CARB. They’re pretty strict with the emissions stuff here. Any other state would probably be fine.

What’s interesting is you posted this right when I am looking into S2000s as a possible option in the future.

I don’t expect a Canadian market car should be too much of a pain given they are typically almost identical to US spec cars except for the metric gauges, which would hopefully be a breeze to fix on a car with a digital dash.

That said, I am glad not to have to deal with anything that strict here.
