Even tho I quit drinking soda 5 months ago (more or less, I’ve cheated in the last month) I can’t help but notice how true this is. Pepsi really is the sweet sweet nectar of life. I could drink a gallon a day without even trying. May aswell put it in an IV to streamline the process.

For me it’s the many flavors of Mountain Dew. I cringe every time I see how much sugar is in one, but once it hits your lips its so good.

Indeed. I’m that person who, when asked “is Pepsi okay?”, immediately responds with “no, no it isn’t.”

It’s all about Dr. Pepper, but Coke is way better than Pepsi.

I'm the opposite. Last night at dinner, I asked for Sprite Zero and apparently they brought me the real thing. I never mainline sugar like that. I felt like crap for 3+ hours and had to brush my teeth when I got home. I have no idea how I drank 5-10 soft drinks per day for most of my teens and 20s.

Why is it east coasters drink so much Pepsi? I drank it until I moved to Ontario, where I started consuming The Lifeforce (Coke)

I’ve pretty much given up Soda and stick to carbonated/flavored water but Oh man I still crave MTN Dew or Coke on occasion.

Because Pepsi gives me liquid shits more reliably than drinking a cup of melted butter would.

Quitting soda feels amazing. I got to a point where I was drinking two Big Gulps of MT Dew every day during work. Quit cold turkey about a year and a half ago. Now even the smell of Mt Dew grosses me out. I still allow myself the occasional ginger ale as a treat.

carbonated water is what made it all possible. Without it I’d still be drinking a gallon a day.

That shit literally saved my life.

I used to be a Coke-only guy but now I’ll drink whatever’s around. I feel guilty about how much sugar is actually in one so now I’ll typically have a Coke Zero in place of a regular fizzy drink. I think all the zero/diet versions aren’t as good, but are close enough where I don’t really care.

At home, I just drink sparkling water now instead. I find it’s that burning/tingling of carbonation that I like with certain meals. Every now and then I’ll have a mad sugar craving and I might have half a can of regular pop but that typically all I can handle now.

I switched to coke for about 2 years and once I had one pepsi again it all came back rushing in like a heroin addict. Been hook on pepsi again ever since.

Coke, glass bottle, cane sugar or GTFO!

I used seltzer to ween myself off of soda. It worked great, except I run through a case of seltzer at about 4 times the rate that I did soda. We have it fo free at work though, which is where I drink most of it.

sparkling water is what made quitting possible. the fizziness is what I was addicted to because the transition hasn’t been that hard but when I don’t have sparkling water for a few days I NEED one! Quitting soda was way harder than quitting smoking.

I dropped from 185 to 175 since I essentially cut soda out of my diet without making any real changes in my exercising habits. My love of beer is probably still holding me back a bit.

Hah, so we’re the same with sparkling water. However, soda was much easier to cut out for me than cigarettes.

Cigarettes are a toxic relationship, literally and metaphorically: you know it’s bad for you, you’ll break up, you still remember the good times you’ve had and in times of need no other relationship can really fulfill your desires, so you come crawling back just for one night, which turns into a weekend, which turns into a week, and so on until you break up again.

seltzer is what made it possible without it I’d still be guzzling back a gallon a day.

Glass bottle cane sugar pepsi is where it’s at. My last trip to the philippines I bought a bunch of cases while I was there. a case of 24 was 125 pesos ~$2.50 usd.

HEAVEN!!!!

I’m about the same. lost a few pounds(maybe 5-8lbs in 5 months) but not really enough to really make it justifiable to quit soda for weight loss.

I didn’t do it for the weight loss I did it so I’d be around to see me son grow up. I was drinking enough that diabetus was waiting right around the corner.

I rarely have soda, but when I do, it’s probably a “small” cup (which are gigantic here in the glorious USA) and a refill at a fast food restaurant (which are places that I rarely eat at)

I stopped drinking soda 8 months ago today, actually. I wasn’t really drinking it frequently, but I figured it would be healthier if I refrained altogether.

Here I am, 8 months later and 40 lbs lighter.

I stopped on Oct 22nd 2015. I remember the day since it was a huge deal to quit soda. Lost maybe 8lbs so far. Good thing weight loss wasn’t the goal even if I could afford to lose about 80lbs.

I used to drink a can of Vanilla Coke everyday during my teen years. Looking back, I’m kind of disgusted with myself. My liquid drug of choice these days is cold-brew coffee, which has a negligible calorie count by itself.

The “life juice” wasn’t the problem for me. It was the “life bread” aka cookies. No soda, no caffeine, no candy, no issue there. Removing cookies for me took some Kill Bill Pai Mei serious training:
