I know the Honda/Acura/JDM crowd as well as culture gets a lot of shit on the FP as well as Oppo. I also know a lot of it is honestly well deserved as it’s connected with moronic choices and stupid ‘kids.’ While I may have grown up and distanced myself from it...I’m still that 17 year old kid who is drawn to it all.

The one clique I really hung out with outside of high school was my group of friends who all had cars. Yes, we all had some sort of Japanese import (2 Integra’s, 1 300Zx Z32, 2 Civic Ek’s). Yes, the back windows were covered in stickers like the one above. We kept it all sane for the most part. We use to all go to car meets during the Spring whether it was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to something like the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Then one day one of our guys got involved with a huge drug selling problem/bust and I left.

I spent the next few years away from the car scene and burying myself in work. Yet as soon as I got my TL, the first thing I bought were stickers to run down the back window (I’ll edit in a picture later). Now as I sit here starring at an EP3 and my mind races with all the things I want to add onto it, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and of course a shit ton of stickers I want to add onto it.

Kinja'd!!!

I may be mature enough to sit down with the adults, may be smart enough to help run a business, may be wise enough to know not to race, but no matter what, I’m always going to be immature enough to associate myself with the “JDM crowd”

I like JDM cars. I had a BB4 Prelude that I loved. I have a Fit as a commuter. JDM cars are fun. I still like checking out a nice clean JDM car.

The stickers are boy racer, lame, played out, etc. etc. Though. I saw a legit Integra Type-r the other day that was stanced. Jesus wept.

I can understand “crew” stickers.

I can kind of understand “vendor” stickers (for parts actually on the car)

I do not understand why people like to have all those stickers.

I understand its just personal style, but can you explain the appeal?

I’m no better. 31 years old and I have stickers on my car.

I’m also putting in a PS2 in the car. Once a ricer always a ricer I guess.

As a 30-year-old who owns a handful of Preludes, I’ve distanced myself from the Honda scene in recent years. I quite simply don’t fit in with it, nor do I want to. My 3rd gen is the only one of the three with any stickers on it, and it was already on the car when I got it.

Kinja'd!!!

I’ve kept it on because I actually like it. When I bought my 5th gen I took all the stickers off.

Love that Clarkson sticker. It’s like a “not bad” seal of approval.
