That Ford sells a 7 seat, body on frame, solid rear axle SUV with low range, a rear diff lock and a turbodiesel 5 cylinder.

God I love this thing

It doesn’t make sense for this market but for the niche that would want one, its just about perfect.

I have a suspicion that since we’ve heard that the ranger is coming over to be built at the michigan assembly plant in wayne, this will be the SUV coming with it.
If you think about it, same platform so the tooling and set up of the plant would be similar.
It will most likely say bronco on it’s ass instead of Everest, but I really, really think this is what we’re getting. And I’m excited about it.

yeah, but don’t expect the diff lock or diesel to come with it. The 3.2 Duratorq (sorry, powerstroke) isn’t certified in the ranger/Everest weight class. Still, could be a cool little truck with the 2.7 EB.

Then I hope to see a Colorado-based Trailblazer make it’s way over here as a competitor.

GM makes one too.

Australia: 8 out of 10 of the deadliest animals and 8 out of 10 of the most desirable cars. It's like some kind of Antipodean Pareto Principle.

That would make sense. Otherwise it doesn’t fit into the “One Ford” plan that’s killing the Aussie Fords off.

Yup, Only this one could actually be had in the US with the diesel. Could you imagine how cool this would be with the US market Colorado styling and the 2.8?! I hear its actually pretty great in the bush too.

Lol, I was watching 4wdTV episodes the other night and they had an ad for the Holden Colorado7.. smashing through the dirt and river crossings.. 2.8Duramax, 7 seats, snorkel..

Meh, aussie fords never make sense.
One Ford should have put that Ranger on the US Shores years ago if so

No imagine it with the US market Colorado’s styling.

With all the drama of diesels right now, a 2.7 EB makes a ton of sense.
I don’t see why we couldn’t get an optional diff lock though, what makes you think that?
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:12 |

Would LOVE it
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:12 |

it is a bit spendy...
Per the fine print, that includes registration and insurance for 12 months. The Ford AU pricing tool doesn’t seem to give out prices for just the truck.

What cars in the US come with it as an option that’s not OVERTLY off roady...
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:14 |
|
Yeah, figure about 60 large for a loaded example converted to USD
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:14 |

Well if it wears a Bronco badge and has that platform under it - it’s plenty off-roady.

I’m just thinking about SUV’s with a locker option. 4Runner...LR4...um...thats it.
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:17 |

Do the Wranglers count? lol
If they bring it here I really want it to compete with all of those. 4Runner, LR4, Wrangler, FJ Cruiser (LOL)

It would be cool but the other cars that have jumped across the pond and lost their diff lock options on the way (land cruiser 200, Nissan Armada/Patrol) give me doubt.
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:28 |

I think it would probably be in a loaded format in the 50's but we’re all guessing

I hear you, i hope they hear us that it’s what we want
I also hope (going with that cost threat) that i can afford the damn thing.
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:30 |

Well its a Ford, not a Toyota so give it 2 years and you can get it for high 30's

ooo harsh burn bro
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:45 |

I wasn’t even trying to burn...though it did occur to me after the fact that it was. What I mean is that no matter how good it is...it wont hold value like a 4runner. One of the perks of it NOT being a Toyota.
![]() 03/08/2016 at 14:57 |

Yeah perks for used car buyers, massive con for new car buyers
I figured you didn’t mean anything hurtful by it lol

I’d hit that.
![]() 03/08/2016 at 15:00 |

Oh you’ll take the hit on depreciation so I can snag a discount?
You’re a good friend - get on that for me will ya?
![]() 03/08/2016 at 15:03 |

Yup, you can pick it up in about 20 years. Bring a dustpan, though, cuz I wouldn’t let it go until it became rust dust.

I have no need for one, but, uh, I want it.
