Suddenly, a widebody RX-7 appears

Dropped off my Miata at a local Mazda/rotary specialist shop on Friday for a timing belt/water pump job and this beauty of an RX-7 was sitting at the shop. Sheet metal widebody, roll cage. Apparently it was part of some rich dude’s private car collection. He recently died and his widow sold this and a few other cars off.

I thought the Celica was supposed to look like a Mustang, not the RX-7. Minus the rear, it’s........very....80's..?

The NACA duct on the hood and the huge integrated wing definitely bring the F40 to mind.
