In the form of a pre-Fiat Avenger R/T 2.4L
A car with a 173hp 2.4L I4 attached to a 4-speed automatic while trying to look like a baby Charger and carrying the R/T moniker.
I’ve driven a 2009 R/T 3.5L and that was simply okay (except the brakes which were downright dangerous), I can’t imagine how terrible it is with 60 fewer horses and two fewer gears.
Let’s not talk about the interior. Except the R/T’s leather seats, those were marvelous and probably where the entire interior budget of three nickels and some pocket lint went.

But what do you think of the Blacktop edition?

Which, fun fact, has the same engine as the Kia Optima LX, although the Kia/Hyundai variant of the engine is updated and produces 200 HP.
I know which one I’d rather have.

That interior is sooo bad. But not as bad as the contemporary 200. One thing that really bugged me is how the driver’s side has a little cubby under the defrost vent, but the passenger side has a little panel that says Avenger instead. Why not have a cubby on the passenger side too?
However I do love the double glove box. having the upper glove box cooled/heated is kinda neat too.

Should’ve been called an Omni. Maybe.

I think the post-2011 ones with the Pentastar and new interior are alright actually.

Blacktop
GLHS
edition. I wish.

Trust me, that cubby is essentially useless for anything but a paperclip.
Heated and cooled cupholders too.

It damn certainly wasn’t avenging anything.

Yeah I kinda figured it was. I know an older woman who owns one. She keeps a stiffed lion in that cubby.

I sold one of those to a young lady. But sadly it was a 4 cylinder.

That is a neat fact, I didn't think there were any shared components between Kia and FCA. I'd take the Optima, thanks.

I did not know that.

had one as a rental for a few days while my car was being fixed a couple of years ago.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO MISERABLE DRIVING A CAR IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.

Honestly I’d be upset if the GLHS name was giving to a sedan.

The 3.5 R/T FWD I drove was a decently peppy little thing. I don’t remember how it handled, though it probably wasn’t bad since it had like really high performance tires on it. The brakes were baaadd though. Like, the worse 4-wheel disc setup I’ve ever experienced.

Woo, rental spec terribleness!
