Here’s good one:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Aston does not/will not make parts for it. If the electrical system goes crazy, you will need an automotive electrical engineer to lay out the entire wiring hardness, troubleshoot and repair/solder it. - I read this somewhere but I can’t remember where, so correct me if I’m wrong.

Wait, what makes it a shooting brake, is this not just a wagon?
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:34 |

Someone writing the ad probably thought shooting brake = British

Well Mercedes calls their CLS wagon a shooting brake so what do I know

For around the same price as a well-maintained NSX, I could have one of the worst Ferraris of all time. Actually, it’s a good thing I have my heart set on trying to afford an NSX one day, because otherwise I would be very tempted.

It’s a literal enigma of a rally truck. I presume the Yamaha engine would have a 12000 redline and make no torque but have monumental amount of HP at the high end

If you had to replace the mainboards, you could probably construct them using breadboard and reverse engineer the ones from the car. They’re not that complex by modern standards.

We can order very few parts for these but damn these can be fidgety. Aston themselves stuggle taking our questions on these but ANY help is appreciated. Ugh, I do not like when these come in.

on a tow truck or under their own power?

I don’t trust anything the Germans name their cars anymore

There’s a Crosley in my area that is “complete” and “good running” and “has a bunch of new parts installed” and “comes with extra parts” for well under 5k. My only concern is the seller says it is perfect for restoration because it is all there. My question is “is it in DD-worthy condition?” Because I would totally DD a Crosley.

Gran Coupe!
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:50 |

Mercedes also calls their CLA wagon a shooting brake.
I think they’re trying to get away from the station wagon term as a marketing strategy. Like how some manufacturers refuse to call their minivans minivans.

Haha I thought this was not too bad, till I read “....minus prototype engine/trans...”

The correct rust repair panels don't exist.

This needs an engine out service that costs $5 grand every 3 years, right?
Ok, I just made the numbers up, but I’m pretty sure its ballpark lol
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:53 |

The gran coupe BS, and how absolutely none of the numbers match displacement, and what on earth is a sports activity coupe
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:53 |
|
How often do they come in and how many were made?
I can’t imagine you see more than one a year...right? Unless the same one keeps breaking down lol
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:54 |

Good point.
Small SUV? CROSSOVER!
Cramped sedan? GRAN COUPE!
SUV? SAV! The A is for ACTIVITY!
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:58 |
|
Yep, CUV/SAV = Minivan/station wagon in heels
Whats worse, now manufacturers are finding a “niche market” between CUVs and regular cars.
Smaller CUVs = Hatchback in heels. Like the Honda HRV, Juke, etc...
All major car and car related media should call them as they are: CDVs (Cross Dressing Vehicles)
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:58 |

Something like that. But then I look at it and that doesn’t matter.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:59 |
|
I hadn’t thought of that. It would be less complex than troubleshooting the factory harness
But I guess its still a pain, considering that there are literally no replacements available. Unless you buy another Lagonda with a working spare. And even that will go out sooner or later lol
![]() 02/28/2016 at 23:03 |
|
I had to look up Crosley on Google lol
If I’m honest, I wouldnt want to DD the car even if I could. I’m afraid I’d break it. Or someone else would “love tap” it and it would completely cave lol

There’s a Cony micro pickup truck for sale in my area. Some obscure import from the 60s.
I tried uploading a pic but kinja sucks balls.

Customers hardly drive them. We’ll get about 2 a year. When they do come in though, they are here for a good while. Only reason they come in is because whatever local independent shop couldn’t figure something out
![]() 02/28/2016 at 23:50 |

Under their own power. Theu stay almost always for a looong time with some gremlin issue their local UK specialist couldn’t find

I don't believe any Crosley should be classified as DD-worthy. However I've seen worse on the road.

chances are Aston Martin can’t help you most likely is , there’s no one left there from that era.
![]() 02/29/2016 at 04:59 |

May I ask where you are? I know someone who is looking for a Crosley...
![]() 02/29/2016 at 09:29 |

There’s some lovable maniac who daily drives a Crosley around where I live in Brooklyn

??? Are yo ubuying the car?? If not I don’t see the problem of sharing where it is so that those who would could see it no? I import cars in Japan as a living and have a friend who’s been wanting one for a while. I’ll be in Michigan in September, so I’ll try to find one there, but if anyone as an idea on where to find a cheap one that somehow moves, I’d love ot hear it.
