It was in a CVS parking lot. I’m positive it was real, I got a very good look at it. Unfortunately I was riding shotgun in my friends car and wasn't able to get a picture as we were just driving by. Any explanation on how it could be here?

How close to the Mexican border are you? They were sold in Mexico and someone could’ve brought one in from there.

Like 4muddyfeet said, it’s most likely a MexiFocus. That was the closest they came to the states. I remember there being an article on Jalopnik about it a long time ago iirc.

There was a white on here in the Austin/Cedar Park area a few years back becasue I saw it every morning on my way to work. Looks like it was purcahsed and registered in Mexico and the guy brought it up. It was a glorious sight. I even had a few badly taken photos of it just to prove it existed.

Is it bad if I want this more than the current RS? Widebody makes this way more special and turbo 5 is such a unique engine. Plus when else are we gonna see a 340 hp fwd hot hatch? If I wanted awd id buy a subaru or audi who know how to do awd. Not knocking the new RS but I think the old one is much more special

Different strokes for different folks. It's a neat car for sure, but I feel confident that the new one will still be a better car all around.

Are you close to Mexico? Ford sold them there. Also, there is a guy in Chicago who does business in Mexico and had the requisite papers to buy one and import it. Jalopnik featured his drive across the border ages ago.

I think it sticks out more not only for it’s colour but North America never got the Mk2 Focus the rest of the world got. You guys an gals got the ugly saloon car in it’s place.
It’s quite a good looking car for it’s age.

The car never really struck a cord but then having a friend’s one for the day to clean, I developed a bit of a lust for it. The friend’s is used as a daily driver while his other friend’s blue one is a pampered garage queen. Shame.
