I tried to find the owner, but no one was home. It goes back hundreds of feet into the woods. Here are just a few sightings near the road.

The “Get off my lawn” is strong with this one.

I spy with my little eye, some things that are aircooled..

Poor cars just rotting away. Owner will probably say they’re not for sale, and that he’s going to fix them up.

There is a little bit of everything out there.

1. If that’s a Gran Torino reference, I’m pretty sure I spotted a Cobra Jet one in the distance.
2. I hope not, I really want to see what is out there.

69 Firebird and 72 Gran Torino are just wasting away.... :-(
Cue the Sarah McCalkline music.

Apparently it was a repair shop at one point, because up front there is a shop building. I just want to meet the owner, and see if I can just go back and look around. I have no intention to buy, as all my money is going toward a new car, not a project. Thankfully I didn’t see any GT40's wasting away.

I’m 85% positive that there is a ‘69 Torino Cobra Jet back there as well. It’s blue with the yellow stripe down the side, along with what I thought was a black hood.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 14:50 |

It would be interesting to hear what he has to say. Soooo glad no GT40's!! ;D
![]() 02/26/2016 at 14:51 |

I hope to eventually find out!

I dont get places like this. If he was holding it for scrap he lost his shot big time, and there is no way they could fix all of these. That being said, it looks like this is in the south so these are still worth something, especially the rare ones.

It used to be a business apparently, and while the business left, they stayed.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 14:59 |

Id be afraid of getting shot around there

That Cadillac... the wagon... the Falcon coupe..
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:01 |
|
That’s why I looked from the road, and approached the house with my hands out in the open. Also, I have a slight “good ole boy” appearance.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:03 |
|
....There is also a Falcon Ranchero.

I dont have such an appearance and therefore feel like they make many assumptions about me
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:11 |

It’s also one Carolina below you.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:13 |
|
Probably not. They would probably ask what you are selling, but other than that, most people don’t care.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:19 |

Most dont care but they always look at me funny
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:19 |

It’s a little hard to tell - is the ‘68 Cadillac a Fleetwood four door or a DeVille? I think it’s a Fleetwood Brougham and it definitely has the remains of vinyl so it’s one of those two - in either case, why the fucking fuck would you let it rot??!
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:22 |

ITS A TRAP! dont go any further. they are trying to lure you in.
-cool cars
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:24 |

It’s a 4-door. I want it almost as much as I want the wagon.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:24 |

GOOD way to get shot.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:26 |

I feel almost like somebody should buy it and hold it in escrow for Rolland.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:29 |
|
dont get me wrong, but if youre not in the market to buy, dont bother the guy.
yeah i know, youre asking for a friend.

From the “road” it looks pretty solid.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:30 |

Especially in the south
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:32 |

I have a feeling in this case, that is an advantage. From the looks of it, nothing has moved for years, as in, he/she is not interested in selling.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:33 |
|
Which isn’t to say the ‘68ish Lincoln is worth leaving either, despite whatever Rolland would say. Suicide doors, man.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:34 |

probably tell you he doesnt have paper for them.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:40 |

There were a lot of cars from the late 50's to early 60's that I didn’t take pics of. There has to be a couple hundred cars/trucks out there.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:43 |
|
That too.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 15:48 |

i know plenty of these kind of guys. OH they WILL sell. they usually get aggravated with people nosing around, walking off with bits and baubles.
guy might not have paper on a chunk of the cars. perfect if you just need a parts car. if you showed up with a reasonable chunk of money you could more than likely haul off whichever one you wanted.
OR (lightbulb moment) offer to help the guy clean off his property of the junk, by hauling them off to salvage. <<< thats just what you tell the guy. and split the profit after expense.

I have to go to peoples door for work quite often. Still haven’t got shot. The rural world isn’t nearly as bad as some of you seem to think. As long as you don’t look drugged out, most people don’t really give a shit as long as you leave if they tell you. That’s when you get shot.

Is this the yard you see on i95 southbound off the side of the road? I think it’s in South Carolina (maybe north) and I pass it four or five times a year. It looked interesting, but I never pulled off to check it out, since I'm usually racing home from the OBX.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 16:00 |

Nope, it’s way off the interstate in Leesville.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 16:00 |

knocking on their door is different from poking around the cars in their yard(abandoned or not). knocking on the door and announcing yourself loudly works okay. and if you cant find anyone, get yourself one of those posterboards(hot pink or dayglow yellow) cut it up into around buisness card size, and thumb tack it onto an obvious spot from the road with your contact info but PLEASE dont go poking around. it can only end badly.

Getting paper’s not impossible, either, just a pain in the rear. My Land Rover was originally titled in Wisconsin and the title went missing, so I had to file a request with WI, then ended up with filing a title bond and so on. And that’s with WI and NC both being title uber alles states.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 16:14 |
|
yeah, letter of rejection, and then the bonded title, that after however many years, you get issued your real title, but yeah, whole lot of trouble.

Oh, I was on a side road(public) next to it lol. I went to their door before even slowly drove by.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 16:40 |

oh man.... the amazingness out there....
![]() 02/26/2016 at 16:46 |

There is so much more that you can’t see. I would estimate there being over 150 cars out there.

fuuuuuuuuck

I hope to find the owner, and try to see the rest of the property.

Man, so many. What a shame.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 16:55 |

some of those cars look very saveable....
![]() 02/26/2016 at 17:04 |

Oh they definitely are. At least from a distance, a large amount of them look etremely solid.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 21:05 |

info should be available at town hall

I have a job where I have access to tax maps, but I’d rather not go that route lol. I’m pretty positive I know which house is the owners, because there is a gate behind one house that leads in to those woods.
