-buying the car off a drunk driver tht sheared the oilpan and killed the motor?

-their neighbors in an extremely sketchy neighborhood who managed to burn their shit down?

Really, when you get down to it, we just like how it looks. That’s everyone else’s M.O. too with pretty much any car, if you’re being honest with yourself. Take an S13 for example because this is the laziest choice for a fun car...

You buy one for a grossly inflated price, pull the truck motor, swap the brakes that do nothing, possibly swap to MT cause desperate, get bigger rollers, swap out the worst seats ever put in a car, brace the shit out of the riddled tin chassis, change all the grandma parts in the suspension, pay $1000+ for a diff, rewire it and do mandatory engine swap, then arrive at a point where you do/do not change every body panel (or just make the stock body look really nice, which is waaay harder) so you don’t look like a brokedick HS kid.

Oh my, that’s actually not that simple or cheap at all for Mattel MyFirstDriftingCar.

That’s pretty much the same amount of time/effort, and probably 3x the money, that we have in this car. I know, cause I’ve done did all that shit. As I’ve mentioned before, the car itself hasn’t even been a stumbling block in the adversity of this project. So why not? It’s a solid foundation to build on. We like building stupid stuff while copying nobody, and if there weren’t people like us around, there would just be a bunch of potato potato potato potato LSx-swapped Z33's running around in varying shades of this makes perfect sense .

Originally, we were gonna go with a Wilwood clutch pedal setup, but then I stumbled upon a total unicorn at the junkyard. A 1of2,331 LS with the Getrag 221 5-speed. I wish I had taken pics of this car, because it was an obvious disgruntled repo that was heavily worked over by someone. The former owner (yes, I looked him up) posted such gems as “Just got out of jail. What’s everyone up to?”, and “Tonight sucked. Got stabbed (with pic in ER).” The ordeal to rip the equipment from this rare Lincoln was three days of rolling around in shattered glass, but we persevered.

The whole thing is incredible.
