how much monies to join? How much monies to race?

While I wish the CT dates were at Lime Rock, I can’t really complain about the price.
My ST will totally be making an appearance this year.

I love your color combo. Can you get that same color in a lighter, better looking wheel though?

Joining is NOT required, but costs $65-90 depending on your region’s dues. https://www.scca.com/pages/join-scc…
A Track Night event costs $150, and discount coupon codes are often available. Hit me up at jhughes@rightfootdown.com if you’d like to know more.

Awesome! When I asked about track selections last year, they said that the problem with the more traditional tracks like Lime Rock or NHMS is that they’re already booked up with existing club events, and there’s no room for a new program like Track Night to break in. But they have some great tracks on the list. Thompson is fun, and I’m TOTALLY psyched they got Palmer. If you’d go to Lime Rock, give Palmer a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Thanks! Here’s a better picture of the wheels.
OZ Racing Ultraleggeras. I got a good deal on them last winter, and I’ll be keeping them around for as long as I own the car - or longer if I switch to a WRX at some point.

What would be super rad, for me at least, is one at Stafford Springs, since my parents own a lake house that’s like 10 minutes from there.

Oh, sweet! Thompson Speedway isn’t too far from there, either. That’s a fun track as well.

Nothing within 5 hours of St. Louis :(

Sweet! Putnam Park is the closest one at about 2.5 hours away from me. I’ll have to take off work at noon, but I can’t wait!
![]() 02/25/2016 at 15:42 |

That’s better than getting up before dawn and missing an entire day of work!

Harris Hill Raceway; San Marcos, TX

YESSSSSSS.

cool frijoles! Since I got that Z4 for my wife, she’s been wanting to to one of these events. I wasn’t sure about price. She is under 24 so it says $45 plus regional fee’s. It would be at MSR Houston. Sucks we don’t do these thing here at work for Lotus anymore :(

I see some events in my future, even if its a club thing to watch one or 2 people drive out there.

Dominion ? Does that mean it’ll be open this year?!?!
![]() 02/25/2016 at 15:51 |
|
You have plenty of time to recover by then!
![]() 02/25/2016 at 15:52 |

One neat thing about Track Night is that they encourage non-drivers to show up, hang out, and watch. There’s no charge for that.
![]() 02/25/2016 at 15:55 |
|
Their schedule has a bunch of events with a bunch of different clubs on it.
![]() 02/25/2016 at 15:59 |

Yah! I was hoping they would do it again this year. It’s the most affordable trackday/night(s) you’ll ever have a chance to do. Also, extra convenient for those who can’t take a whole day off work! It’s just the right amount of track time too IMO.
![]() 02/25/2016 at 16:01 |

Finally! Been waiting for this to be released, now to decide which one I want to go to at Dominion...

Sucks I dont currently have a car to take on track but best believe I will be showing up at Portland International Raceway to try out my new camera and lenses!
![]() 02/25/2016 at 17:11 |

Hopefully they add it to the Lemons/Chump/AER schedule for next year :)

I take it we will be at Palmer a lot this summer?
![]() 02/25/2016 at 19:40 |
|
Yeah we are going to come out to some definitely. Can we get the Europa done for an August run is the question
![]() 02/25/2016 at 22:26 |

How safe is it? Do you need track insurance?
![]() 02/26/2016 at 09:04 |
|
Darn skippy we will be!
![]() 02/26/2016 at 09:07 |

They do have a deal with Lockton Motorsports to offer track insurance, and since my car isn’t paid off I tend to use it. It’s fairly safe as long as you keep your wits about you, but on a track anything can happen. I can tell you that in attending 3-4 events last year I only saw one car hit something solid. Having seen video from a car behind the incident, I could tell it was because the driver was being too aggressive.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 09:50 |
|
How much does that insurance typically run you?
![]() 02/26/2016 at 09:54 |
|
A bit over $100 per event for my 2014 BRZ. I’m sure it varies based on the value of your car, and I know it varies based on what modifications you list. (Yes, if you have a trick $2,000 suspension, you can list that and have it covered by track insurance.) It basically doubles the cost of an event for me, but it’s not bad when we’re talking $125 after my coupon code, and I know I won’t be paying for a car years after I crashed it at the track.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 10:26 |
|
Thanks
I’ve got enough cash to cover it unless I seriously bin it, but that’s cheap enough that it probably makes more sense to just get the insurance
![]() 02/26/2016 at 10:27 |
|
Yup. The other advantage is it also covers damage to the track facilities. So if you take out one of their fences or walls, even that’s covered.
![]() 02/26/2016 at 10:43 |
|
Oh, didn’t even think of that, definitely worth the money then.
Now it just needs to warm up so I can go pfuts about with my brakes to get them ready for that first Blackhawk event.

And now my summer is looking pretty fun. Thanks for the info.
